Bowen Pies - Chorley
Bowen Pies
Description
Bowen Pies has garnered a reputation for its delicious offerings, including a variety of expertly crafted pastries and pies. Many customers praise the quality of the fillings and the perfect pastry. However, some feedback highlights inconsistencies, particularly regarding portion sizes and expectations for traditional recipes, like the missing jelly in pork pies. While pricing has raised concerns for some, others find the value justifies the cost. Exceptional customer service and prompt delivery also receive accolades. Overall, Bowen Pies presents a blend of highs and lows, making it both a promising and polarizing dining destination.

Been here before quite a few times, always good.decided to sit in I had buttered pie my other half had meat and potato. and 2 coffees. Spotlessly clean and not expensive great!
I have been a loyal customer of Bowens since they first started in Babylon Lane Adlington, so I have extensive experience with their products. Their whist pies are excellent, unmatched by any others, but I have noticed a decline in quality since they moved to the Chorley bakery. The whist pies seem to be missing the juice or jelly that used to accompany them. Additionally, the meat and potato pies often have undercooked potatoes, leading me to leave many pies unfinished. I would appreciate it if they could provide a list of chip shops that sell their steak puddings, as my usual shop no longer offers them without explanation.
I ordered the cheese and onion pie. The portion size was larger than average, but the pastry was thick. Unfortunately, there was very little cheese filling, with more pastry than filling. I was very disappointed.
While the pies are delicious, the cost of a single pie is outrageous. Ordering three pies with delivery added up to nearly £20. This will be the first and last time I order online from this restaurant.
