The perfect place for a sundowner, on the sunny side of Chioggia. Decent selection of snacks, and by far one of the best selections of wine in town.
Enoteca Fronte del Porto is not a typical restaurant to take a regular three course menu, but it is a cosy venue for easygoing folks, who have a pretension for tasty dishes and good wines. We know the location for many years and we are lucky to get once or twice a year the chance to have dinner there. Recently, we stepped in at the right time for pumpkin season. The kitchen was offering a well composed selection of meat and fish or pure vegetarian meals, all on the base of pumpkin flavor. That is culinary art. We tried pork filet in puff pastry shells with pumpkin cream and a Cabernet red wine aside. The portions on the plate are sufficient. Last spring, we experienced a similar seasonal kitchen based on asparagus. Of course, very delicious cold and warm starters are on offer all the year round. The owner is very friendly and helpful (staff as well) and he has good suggestions for the right choice of wine or “spumante”. As you can expect, looking for a seat even close to midnight might on some days take a little waiting time. Come to this place, you will enjoy it!
Una piacevole sorpresa. Un ristorante piccolo ma caratteristico, con cibo molto ben fatto, preparato con cura e un ottimo servizio. Cena con una vista meravigliosa. Piatti tradizionali chioggiotti. Sicuramente da tenere a mente quando si è in zona.
Siamo venuti a questo ristorante la sera del nostro arrivo a Chioggia, in settimana, e ci siamo subito trovati bene: accoglienza gentile, camera piccola e ben tenuta, menu legato al territorio ma vario e interessante. I piatti hanno superato le aspettative, grazie alla bella presentazione e al tocco dello chef che ha reso intriganti anche le proposte più tradizionali. Ottimo il prosecco della casa, che accompagna tutto alla perfezione. Le porzioni sono abbondanti, come è giusto per una taverna, senza compromettere il gusto. L'atmosfera è intima e conviviale, il personale disponibile ma non invadente. Si mangia bene e si spende il giusto: siamo tornati due volte!
