This is a review purely of customer service. We had a terrible experience with Vedder rd location where they told us to call this one because our house was out of their area. The employee here was amazing and called the Vedder location for us and tried to clear up the matter. She was equally frustrated with the Vedder location’s lack of service. View all feedback.
What tazzmannee doesn't like about Jim's Pizzeria:
Ordered the rib dinner but they ran out so ordered the chicken dinner which came with 2 breasts. The first problem was an hour and a half for delivery. The guy showed up and forgot the plates and Utensils and then realized he forgot Caesar salad. By the time the guy came back we were done eating. Now as for the meal the chicken breasts were very small and just had BBQ sauce on them. The lasagna was the best part of t... View all feedback.
Ordered pizza and when it got here they charged a $6.00 (on top of delivery) fee for long distance. We are only 5.2 km from the restaurant ! Won't order delivery again! Pizza was ok.
My wife and I ordered a pizza from Jim's the other night. We usually get ours from the Jim's on the Sardis side but as we were staying at a hotel close to the Chilliwack one, we ordered from this location. One thing you can always count on, is the consistent good pizza coming from these restaurants. It is true that pizza is subjective and not everyone will agree on what makes the best kind of pizza. Personally I am not a fan of the Domino's or Panagopolous style of pizza's. They are too bland, no matter what toppings they put on them. They always taste the same. I refer to them as cookie cutter pizza. Fine if you like that sort of thing but not my style. The Pizza at Jim's is completely different. It is made on a a crust that is thicker and has a lot of flavour. Add their house pizza sauce and the quality toppings, the combination is awesome. If you are looking for like a thin crust pizza, this is not it. It is thick, chewy and amazing. It is the only pizza I have had where it tastes as good cold coming from the fridge as it did hot. Most pizza tastes like cardboard when it is cold. Not Jim's. All in all, the best pizza in town. As far as I have had so far, the best pizza period.
The pizza is good, fresh and tasty great service and great prices, they also have gluten free pizza.
We normally order from Ricardos but have heard Jim’s is the best. We had two pizzas delivered and it will be the last time. Our Jim’s special had raw dough under all the toppings that were loaded on and raw tasting. It was horrible. Our second pizza the Hawaiian just tasted off. We paid over $40 due to delivery charge and tip and cannot even eat them. We did not call as we paid cash and don’t want a credit as we will stick with Ricardos whom is consistently great.
I’ve already provided lengthy context to my “Jim’s Pizza” experience in my review of the Vedder/Sardis location and so will stick more to a matter-of-fact review of Jim’s Young Rd/Downtown unit. Long story short: Finding myself in Chilliwack for the first time in 5 years, I was anxious to get me some Jim’s Pizza. After all, they have, for many a decade, been roundly and soundly crowned Chilliwack’s “Favourite Pizza” by the Chilliwack Progress (Readers Choice Awards). Why? I suspect the reason is at least two-fold. First, they’re not a chain restaurant; that is to say, they are local – grounded and based in Chilliwack. Second, they’ve developed a strong reputation for utilizing fresh ingredients and executing mouth-wateringly good pizza pies. That, and they became known for the bun placed at the center of each pizza. I mean, who doesn’t love a soft BUN atop their pizza? It was always a favourite of mine and helped set Jim’s apart from the various pizza chains that’ve set up shop in the last couple of decades. In any event, we’d ordered from the Vedder location earlier in the week and, to be blunt, I was left disappointed. First, the crust was hard and chewy; second, there was NO BUN! What on earth? Why on Cornelius’ ghost would you forget the BUN? I was flabbergasted, sad and wondering what went wrong. Thinking that it was a one-off error or oversight, the family and I decided to place an order with Jim’s downtown location – a place I rarely patronized even when I lived in the area (Vedder was much closer to home). This time, we kept the order basic: A classic Hawaiian Pizza pie. It was ready in good time and, I admit, looked pretty darn good. The pizza was generously topped with ham, bacon, pineapple, cheese and homemade pizza sauce . . . but, again, WHERE WAS THE BUN? Two in a row. How disappointing. Additionally, the crust was similar to what was had at the Vedder location – tough. Once routinely touted as the “best pizza in Chilliwack,” Jim’s, it seems, has become complacent and, in so doing, slipped into the realm of average pizza. As I said in my review of the Vedder location, I’ll probably order from Jim’s again when I’m in the area, but it won’t be on my “must dine” list anymore . . . sad. FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 3/5 VALUE: 3/5 RECOMMENDATION: Since my visit(s), I’ve been told that Jim’s still does the classic bun “sometimes,” which implies that maybe you have to ask for it? It’s a distinguishing feature of the pizzas – one shouldn’t have to request it. Nevertheless, something has changed at Jim’s quality-wise and not for the better. Still, the pizzas aren’t bad, and it’s always nice to support local over the large MNCs, so I’ll go with a Mild Recommendation on this one.
