I ordered... read more I really enjoy the location and atmosphere here; the views of the University of Chicago, tall trees, and Midway Plaisance are stunning during the day. I ordered the root vegetable soup, which was puréed and had a strange salty flavor—perhaps too much cheese? The salmon pâté was also quite salty, but the accompanying salad and toast were good. The minted courgettes had a delightful flavor, but they were very oily, which diminished their overall taste and texture. My guest was pleased with her chicken pot pie soup and crème caramel. I tried a dessert similar to ‘snow island’ (not the exact name, but close), which was huge and quite tasty if you like lemon meringue pie flavors. I would definitely return because the service is excellent, and the restaurant is lovely, but next time I think I’ll opt for more traditional English dishes.
