The Dock At Montrose Beach - Chicago

During the summer, there is live music every evening at this restaurant. It is the perfect spot to unwind after a long day at work.

I usually don't write reviews, but this was the worst dining experience I've ever had. The food was awful, especially the blackened shrimp tacos which tasted terrible. The corn tortillas were soggy and poorly cooked. My partner's tacos broke while he was eating them, causing a mess. The portion size of tortilla chips and salsa was very small. The music was extremely loud, giving me a headache. Even though we wanted to leave, we had to stay because my in-laws picked the restaurant. It took an hour and a half to get our food, which was not worth the money. The bathrooms were dirty and out of toilet paper most of the night. Our waitress was friendly but absent most of the time, and the drinks were weak. I don't understand how there are any recent good reviews for this place.

I like beaches and tacos. Do you like beautiful burgers, happy people, sandy beaches, boat drinks, reliable burgers, and tasty fish or shrimp tacos? Then this is the place for you. Good gluten free ?gf? options. Corn tortillas. Spicy salsa. Happy,friendly staff. Amazing views of the city and the beach. Outdoor dining underneath umbrellas.

The service at this restaurant was extremely disappointing. It took over an hour to receive our food, which ended up being bland and overpriced. One person in our group had to wait for their drink despite all the other drinks being served. The music was overwhelmingly loud and our waitress was frequently absent for long periods of time. It seems like they might be understaffed as the busboys were unhelpful and rude. Additionally, there are no bathrooms on site aside from the beach bathrooms, which were not well-maintained. Overall, the restaurant seems poorly managed and I would not recommend dining there.

If you are walking by maybe? Do NOT make it a destination. We did and got there, paid for parking and then got to the stand and they said ?sorry, we are not taking anyone for the next hour to hour and a half.? Plenty of empty tables but probably notenough staff. But no notice, no sign outside, no posting, so we could avoid spending parking money. Just sorry guys, have a niceday. There are a lot of restaurants in this city and clearly some of them are better than others.
