My favorite tacos on the northwest side of Chicago. The Al Pastor is great. Bistec Encebollado is made per order. Their salsa is delicious. Overall, the food is on point. Prices have creeped up after the pandemic, but at least the menus have printed prices now instead of pieces of tape covering the price with no or inaccurate pricing. The service is hit and miss, but as long as I get my fix, I'm good. The atmosphere... View all feedback.
What rebecca bustamante doesn't like about Taqueria El Heredero:
This place is a cool chill spot to hang out with friends and the food is decent. The main reason i gave it 3 starts was because I ordered the skillet and hoped to kick up my dish with some homemade spicy salsa but they had nothing spicy! The waitress tried her best to find me something spicy but each time it was just too mild for my liking. If you don't care about salsa and peppers in Mexican food.....then you'll pro... Best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The torta was pillowy, the sauce set up was perfect, the accompaniments were juicy and plentiful. I loved the decor of the space and it felt so authentic. I hope this place stays around for a long long time. Will most definitely be back.Food: 5/5
Y’all, don’t be sleeping on this place. It’s a small authentic taqueria in the interiors of Logan Square. But this place has the best chicharron tacos I’ve tasted so far in the whole of Chicago. Their quesabirria, asada, pastor, and chorizo tacos are equally delicious. The prices are unbelievable, the food is chefs kiss. I’ve picked up a late dinner at this joint so many times, I’ve lost count.
That's a good taco. The meat is flavorful--smokey, charred, tender. Fresh tortillas. Classic house salsas. BYob.Food: 5/5
We felt uncomfortable when we walked in. The food was good. There was only 1 waitress. I think she could have been a little nicer.Food: 5/5
My love and I recently enjoyed dining at Taqueria El Heredero on Armitage. We were there for dinner on a Saturday, and unless that was a special occurrence, they do NOT close at 5PM on a Saturday as indicated on Yelp. I wish we knew what the actual hours are, as it would be unfortunate if the restaurant was missing out on dinner customers because of the early listed closing time online. We sat at booth number one and enjoyed looking at the retro decor throughout the restaurant. Service was pleasant enough, and we were pleased to get a carafe of water and some tortilla chips during our meal. My quesabirria dinner consisted of three tacos with consommé, rice and beans. It was a messy, hearty and tasty meal, and I saved one of the three tacos as leftovers. My love enjoyed her mixed fajita plate with shrimp and beef, along with rice and beans, salad with a generous dollop of avocado, and a bunch of corn tortillas. She had leftovers too, but while the good stuff stayed good (shrimp and beef), the tortillas were too rubbery the second time around. So eat your tortillas when you get 'em!
