Stan's Donuts Coffee - Chicago

I needed a quick pick-me-up after celebrating St. Patrick's Day festivities, and saw a Stan's Donut down the street. I basically beelined inside and ordered a lemon pistachio old fashioned. This hit the SPOT. Ordering was quick and easy, and the service was great! We went to the location inside a grocery/quick eats spot, and there was plenty of seating. Parking was naturally a doozy, but it was in a lovely, walkable area!

They run out of the best flavor of doughnuts very early in the day. They have the best scrambled eggs on their sandwiches! The coffee is just average.

The sandwiches were just ok, but the donuts had a weird burnt taste that was really hard to ignore. I don't know if they just messed up prepping in the morning or something but it wasn't good. I would say most grocery store bakery section donuts taste better than this.

If you don't like lemon cookies, do not order the lemon pistachio donut everyone seems to rave about in the reviews. It was gross. Also, I personally think this place just brands correctly, it's nothing special and I honestly prefer donuts from the D place instead, and I hate the D place.
