It has a few Latin countries’ goodies. I went for Puerto Rican goodies. Although I don’t recommend the sorullos because it’s extremely greasy, I enjoyed the mayorca (powder and guava with cheese). What User doesn't like about San Juan Bakery:
This bakery went downhill. The ordered Empanada was terrible, the dough was very thick and tasty. The Quesito with Guay was very hard to chew and the dough was also hard. I bought a couple of pastellillos de guava for my girlfriend, they were also terrible. This is a Puerto Rican bakery. It is missing that Puerto Rican taste. Will never return. And, I’ll buy it again when I visit Chicago.
Sad to say that the quality in their pastries has really gone down hill. I loved the mallorca bun, but in the past year noticed it doesn't taste good or fresh any more. My dad bought some pastelillos de guava, and they literally smelled and had the taste of vanish. We won't be going back.
