At Politan Row, we tried a variety of dishes including Chicago-style hot dogs, meatloaf, mac and cheese, salted caramel flan, fried chicken, tacos, baklava, and seafood gumbo. But we were also delighted to discover more exotic dishes like sambal shrimp, ropa vieja, Korean bibimbap, Vietnamese bun cha, Singaporean chicken rice, pork belly bao, Katsu sandwiches, and udon noodles. Each vendor brings their own twist to traditional dishes, offering a diverse range of flavors and options. From Indian street food at Thattu to Israeli hummus at LaShuk Street Food, Cuban soul food at Clave, Indonesian and Cajun fare at Bumba Roux, Japanese comfort food at Mom's, and Korean, Vietnamese, and Singaporean cuisine at Piko Street Kitchen, there is no shortage of choices. To complement the delicious food, Politan Row also features Bar Politan with signature cocktails and Perle, a German-inspired beer garden. The food hall is open daily at 7 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. on Sunday. Overall, it was a truly memorable dining experience that we would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore a Taste of the Planet.
I am not a native in chicago, so I cannot compare this culinary experience with other Chicago facilities. a few comments to eat. the idea of international diversity within a place was appealing and the attraction. old fashion drink was delicious, but expensive even too happy hour. on our table was the Cuban sandwich a disappointment. it was dry, without a spicy, and the cheese was too mild. the crab mini sandwich was delicious, although expensive for the size. the creole was good, but the only seafood in the creole was a lonely garnel. it was mostly broth. I can't remember the other sandwich of our table. I think it was a turkey sandwich from the Cuban kitchen. the diner didn't eat much of the sandwich. again, dry and not seasoned. the experience was okay. we would have tried more articles, but it was simply served too expensive for the amount of food. overall enjoyed the concept, but eating was not as exciting as expected. location was clean, beautiful outdoor dining area, full bar. if I could, I would rate as 3.5, good.
