We came here on a Friday nightI'd recommend reservations- there was a 90 minute wait for two people.
I came here for Sunday brunchThey take reservations from their website. When we arrived we were seated upstairs near a window.
In any case among the best restaurants you will find. the attention to detail and execution are among the elites. the cocktails are incredibly kreatiw and unforgettable, Scotch egg was perfect jammy, the engraving in the bangers and mash is black magic level good, and the burger is goddamned. I can’t make that judgment if this is “the best burger in Chicago” as this is a personal decision. it was perfectly executed and tasteful. you have to try it yourself. it is worth stopping. or many.
So happy this place is open again. Walk-Ins are limited to the barroom, but it is worth making a reservation for a table. the drink list is extensive, with great beating on both the design and the can/bottle as well as a creative cocktail list. eating is amazing. almost everything is done in the house. the Scotch egg bursts with taste and doesn't feel like a fat bomb in her stomach. the burger is delicious to create everything from the patty to the melt in the mouths to the bungalow compliment one another a wonderful arrangement of aromen. the cherry top is the personal is so funny and pleasant, with that they feel like a more regular there, even if it is their first time.
Owen & Engine is a popular spot that has received mixed reviews from customers. While some rave about the amazing food, extensive drink menu, and friendly staff, others have complained about rude service and unexpected fees added to the bill. The Scotch egg and burger are highly recommended dishes, and the cozy European pub vibe is a hit with many diners. Overall, Owen & Engine seems to be a hit or miss dining experience depending on individual preferences and expectations.

The menu and service exceeded my expectations. We truly appreciated the atmosphere of this place. It's an exceptional spot for a family lunch.
The service was very slow and disappointing. I will never return. After waiting for 40 minutes without our burger order, I inquired about it and was met with a rude suggestion that we could pay our bill now to leave sooner.
Wonderful service and amazing food! We ordered the cheese plate, burger, fish and chips, mussels, a d milk and cookies for dessert and everything was fantastic!

We had an early weekday reservation (5:30) so we had the place almost to ourselves. The service was excellent and the food was amazing.
Best. Burger. In Chicago. Period. Bonus: We had one of the most congenial and knowledgeable servers. She understands that their burger is something very special and her description of the chef's process in developing the recipe had sold us immediately. This place is a bit tucked away and is an absolute gem.
We truly enjoyed the excellent food and experience and the European flair of a pub! The only disappointment was the extra chair for a tablespoon of additional dipping sauce.

Owen Engine is back open! Their food was so good and worth the wait. You can tell they are working through some of the challenges that come with being closed for nearly two years, but overall the staff was nice and the ambiance was great. We sat at the bar and tried the Mission Trip cocktail, a draft beer, the soft pretzel (the cheese with it was AMAZING), and the vegetable korma so good! It would be helpful to have a reservation as we walked in (around 9:40pm) and they had a 15+ minute wait and suggested we go to Maplewood Brewing (5 minute walk away) to wait, which we did.
So glad we stopped in here! Highly recommend a reservation so you don't have to wait, but it was well worth it. The fish and chips were some of the best I've had and the short ribs were so flavorful. Great selection of draft beers and the garden party cocktail was fresh and light perfect for a summer sunday afternoon!
Food is quite delicious, and upscaled. The drink was so good I had three; strawberry mead. The meal ordered was the Pastrami Smoke Salmon; first day on the menu and was a delightful reimagining of a smoked pastrami. Definitely recommend a stop for a solo date or group date. Expect to spend depending on the drink and food.
Definitely among the best restaurants you can find. Attention to detail and execution are among the elite. The Cocktails are incredibly creative and memorable, scotch egg was perfectly jammy, The gravy in the Bangers and Mash is black magic-level good, and the burger is god-tier. I can’t make the judgement if this is “the best burger in chicago” since that’s a personal take. It was perfectly executed and flavorful. You’ll need to try it out yourself. Worth a stop. Or many.

Been coming here for years, still as good as ever. One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago.
Heard about the burger here and had to give it a go was not disappointed. Easily one of the top burgers in Chicago. Dessert was just okay, but the burger is a must if you go here.
I gotta say I was skeptical when my sister proposed we eat here, but I’m glad we did. The bubble and squeak was *insert chefs kiss* on point. And they play my type of music here. Can’t go wrong with this place.
Marshall was so amazing and knowledgeable about the menu and was great in his suggestions based on what we like! Everything was wonderful and we left with a full and happy belly!

I really like the taste of their House Baked Brioche French Toast Sandwich. It has a sunny egg, aged cheddar, smoked ham, maple syrup, blueberry jam and salad. The combination of it was totally lit. Blueberry jam made this dish more tasty and flavorful. I can't get enough of it. The salad also tasted fresh. It's a little bit bitter but it's good for me. You can eat this dish. I also like their English breakfast. It comes with a lot of dishes including egg, toast bread, fried pork, some potatoes, sausage and a cup of beans. This dish was too dry since it was fried but when I pour the beans it comes with a great flavor. Overall I really enjoy their food as well as their service since they have quick and friendly service. Good job to the staff and to the owner. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I had a great first time at Owen and Engine, shoutout to our server Emily! We decided to try the potato pave, and it was fantastic. At the price point, I'm not sure I would get it again, but i don't regret trying it one bit and we enjoyed it a lot. We also shared a medium rare burger and the bone marrow, both of which I would not hesitate to order again. When the burger first came out it seemed a bit empty at first glance, but after my first bite I was sold; it was cooked perfectly. We happily cleared everything that we ordered off our plates and I'm sure we'll be back sooner rather than later
