I purchased a groupon for afternoon tea. We were running 15 min and called ahead of time to notify them and if it was okay. The person who answered was nice and told us to take our time. The waiter had very little knowledge of the menu and it was very challenging to get him to accommodate my child who was dining with us. Additionally, the duck dumplings were served very cold (almost frozen and were inedible. I do not recommend eating here.
There is little about this place worth talking about. If you stay at the Knickerbocker as we did and its raining out like it did for us then ok go for breakfast. If you can go out then do yourself a favor and do it.
Nix has outstanding service. Our group meets there once a month. The waiters are welcoming and efficient. They remember our favorites. The menu changes often so there frequently is something new to try. The plates are attractively arranged. The food is good. The price is moderate. The small room at the rear of the restaurant is excellent for a group. New décor makes the restaurant cheery and clean looking.
Pleasant dining. Wonderful service! We will definitely go back!
One of my favorite breakfast places in Chicago now. We stopped in this week for our 2nd visit and it was as good as the first time. Spinach and mushroom omelette is awesome. Rosemary potatoes are fantastic. Service is top notch. I may have to try to book my hotel intentionally close to this restaurant for next time.
