It's been a while since we ordered from here and we were surprised to see how expensive everything had gotten. Chalked it up to the economy and given it's a small business we went ahead and ordered. Portion sizes were small for what we paid. Fettuccini was good but the lasagna, meatballs (they forgot the crostini) and pesto gnocchi were just ok. View all feedback.
What Glen Trebilcock doesn't like about La Gondola:
I made the poor decision to cater a lasagna dinner for my wife's birthday from this place. We sampled the lasagna at the restaurant and she was happy with our choice. On her big day, the lasagna was delivered without the meat sauce, which was a disappointment for our 70 guests. My wife is not happy about this. I spoke to the owner who blamed it on me for exchanging too many emails concerning my order ?!?!?!? . He off... View all feedback.
D makes your experience very memorable. His personality is so warm and engaging on a playful side. We were referred here by friends and quickly saw why. Food was fantastic and when I was concerned about wasting the remaining deep dish pizza as was staying in hotel, D suggested donating it to those in need. My heart was so warmed by that. Yes. I will recommend a thousand times over. Pat and Sandy, Bellefonte PA
Looking for an Italian restaurant that absolutely slaps? You've found it! Ditch the mediocre chain restaurants in Chicago and order here instead. This place is incredible! Ever since visiting Europe this summer I've been seeking the best Carbonara in Chicago. Let me tell you, their Carbonara absolutely slaps! It's slightly more salty than I prefer but that's being petty tbh. I placed an order on doordash and there was a small, micro issue with my order which resulted in getting to try more food! It was dealt with in a very timely and effective manner. The girl working up front is sooooo nice and so is the owner (I presume he was the owner). We also got to try their spaghetti and meatballs, double cheese burger, fries, minestrone soup, and brownie bites. Every item was amazing! I do want to give a specific shout out to the double burger for $7 during lunch. It's the definition of grilled BBQ burger. It tasted like a BBQ with the grill marks on it and overall flavor. The cheese was so melty and delicious! It's the best value and quality burger in Chicago. Also worth noting that the free baguette you get with the pasta is actually good! I'm so picky about baguettes but theirs was actually worth eating. Thanks for making our experience amazing! I will be back so soon!
So glad our family enjoyed a delicious family style Italian meal at this small but mighty restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and ultra efficient. Can’t wait to go back so I can try other things on the menu.Food: 5/5

Never ordering from this place again!
The amount of oil my gnocchi was swimming in made it inedible. Absolutely gross. First experience and my last. Also specifically ordered sprite but was delivered some local bottled soda. Not nearly the same. Try at your own risk, but maybe skip the gnocchi dinner.*edited to add response to owner… if you’re out of something, or dealing with supply issues, remove it from the menu. My ordering and expecting a Sprite, and you substituting with some local soda is a bait and switch. I do not share in your opinion that the local option “tastes great”.Additionally, as you can see from the image added when originally posted, this was not a pesto gnocchi dish. There was absolutely NO way to mix in the oil in the dish delivered to me. It was essentially oily soup.I appreciate your response, but there’s no excuse or way to spin what was delivered to me and what I paid over $30 for.
