Java Mug - Reviews

Was Anna Dosch at Java Mug a mag?
My new go-to study spot in the neighborhood. Liked Java before, but love the revamp. The decor is simple and clean, the atmosphere is perfect for studying/reading, and the menu is so good. My favorite was the black sesame cream latte. Will definitely be trying one of the croffles next time I come in. View all feedback.
What Railas dislikes about Java Mug:
This place was so intensely quiet. Not sure if this is normal for this cafe, or just the time we arrived, but it was almost uncomfortable. From the door loudly slamming behind us, to feeling like we had to whisper to chat you could have heard a pin drop. We also made the mistake of sitting in the seat closest to the restroom and could hear everything. The chair I reached for had a long strand of hair on it as well so... View all feedback.

The service is excellent! The lady who took our order is absolutely delightful. The café itself is charming.
A restaurant operated by Koreans, reminiscent of the flavors I experienced in Sinsa-dong, Korea.
The lattes are so good, it’s such a cute spot I love sitting by the window. And you have to try a croissant waffle. So crunchy and yummy. One of my favorite spots. Come early before the kids get out of class.
Enough time has passed with this new establishment that I could give an honest and thorough opinion/review. I loved this place very much throughout the years, and I could say with confidence that it was my favorite spot in the entire city. Whether I was leaving high school, visiting on my off-days from work, or studying for other things, this was always the first spot that would come to mind for almost a decade. It was surprising to see that the place was sold, keeping the same name and function as a café, and I was very sad to see that the couches were the first thing to go after the renovation. That, the bubble tea, the board games, the ramen, and other factors which were removed as well were what kept me coming to Java Mug so often, but they are all gone now. As another reviewer said, this place feels very sterile and dull now—completely unlike what the old establishment felt like, which was homey and cozy. I wish that the new owners would bring back the things that drew so many customers to the store in the first place, but that is merely a personal desire/preference. They can do what they please with their business, but unfortunately, I will not be frequenting this café anymore as I did for many years.
Having undergone a significant transformation under new ownership, this café now boasts a clean, minimalist decor that appeals to students and casual diners alike. While some patrons miss the cozy, homely atmosphere of the past, many appreciate the revamped menu featuring delightful options such as the black sesame croffle and an array of innovative drinks. The ambiance is generally quiet, making it an ideal study spot. However, the removal of previous favorites could leave some longtime customers disappointed. Despite this, the attentive staff and high-quality offerings ensure a pleasant oasis for both relaxation and study.

Really friendly man at the counter, and the only one working! Great service, great coffee.
This restaurant has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere! They play soothing music and offer an excellent variety of comforting drinks and dishes. The service is fantastic too.
They're open until midnight, making it a perfect spot to relax with friends. Plus, they offer board games to enjoy! Overall, I had a fantastic experience here!
A charming café that offers a serene atmosphere perfect for studying, reading, unwinding, or having a conversation.
