This restaurant serves delicious Chinese BBQ meat that can be taken to go or enjoyed in the restaurant. It is better to order by the pound instead of choosing small, medium, or large sizes from the menu. The wonton noodle soup is excellent, especially with the addition of Chinese BBQ pork. The shrimp and pork dumplings are authentic and handmade. The dining experience was better when they were a smaller restaurant on... View all feedback.

I've been fed in hon kee for 30 years, delicious food and generous portions for a good price.
I was going to give up on find good Chinese food up north. After ordering just some chicken wings.I will be back to try something else.
I miss the old location, but complaining about that won't be very productive. I've been visiting the business for the Tendon Noodle Soup and their Lechon, or roast pork/pork belly. The prices are good. My only complaint is with the recent lack of consistency since moving to the new location. Service hasn't been great and the soup and other dishes from the kitchen have been coming out a little different each time. My most recent order of Szechuan eggplant was over thickened, over saucy, and gloopy -too much cornstarch. Wish the place didn't look like such a banquet hall now, but I wish them well on their expansion. Unfortunately for me its no more hole in the wall anymore.

We went to Hon Kee Barbeque and Seafood restaurant for l first time last week. We've been to many restaurants in the Uptown area but this was our first time there.Did you know that they have been in the Uptown area in Chicago for 40 years? They opened in 1981 and have been serving delicious Chinese Canton Cuisine food since then. It's a family run restaurant and I was thrilled to meet the owner Paul Tsang and his daughter Melina. We came for the 3 course Peking Duck dinner (whole filleted Duck, Duck vegetable stir fry Duck soup), includes house-made hoisin sauce, pickled radish carrots. Freshly julienned scallions cucumbers and 12 steamed mantou baos. It was delicious, and enough food for 4 people. We will be back again for some of their most popular dishes such as: BBQ Pork Scrambled Egg on Rice, Hong Style Lobster and any of their noodle soups! If you have never been to Hon Kee Barbeque and Seafood restaurant, I highly recommend that you go there soon.
