Fred Jack's
Description
At this renowned local eatery, opinions are sharply divided. While some patrons rave about the hot and delicious offerings, including burritos and shakes, others express deep dissatisfaction with both the food and service. Complaints range from bland, greasy meals and poorly executed orders to unprofessional staff behavior, creating a chaotic atmosphere. The inconsistency in food quality, coupled with an apparent disregard for customer preferences, leaves many diners disenchanted. Ultimately, this establishment embodies a "you get what you pay for" ethos, suggesting that while it may be a budget-friendly choice, expectations should be tempered accordingly.

I have been a loyal customer here since I was a child, and I'm happy to report that the new owners are upholding the tradition of providing fresh, well-prepared meals. It still stands out as one of the best places on the Southside.
This is my go-to spot! Sometimes, all you need is a delicious chili cheese dog.
It was overpriced and not even all that. Ordered steak cheese fries with lettuce tomatoes and sour cream. They charged me .80 per item, and the size was half the size I'm used to from El Grand.
The gyros and Italian beef are not worth your time, so steer clear of those dishes. However, the birra tacos, double cheeseburger, and burritos are fantastic and definitely worth trying. The nacho libre can be hit or miss. Overall, this place is convenient, fresh, and probably the best option in the neighborhood. I recently tried the chili cheese dog, and I have to say the hot dogs are of excellent quality—I recommend them, even though I'm not usually a fan of chili dogs!
