Description

Eppel's remains a beloved neighborhood breakfast spot known for hot, home-style cooking, quick service, generous portions and a warm, family-run atmosphere. Staff like Lyn draw regulars, and classics: pancakes, grits, Reubens are often praised. However recent complaints about missing or incorrect orders, lapses in food quality, poor packaging on deliveries and troubling incidents of hair and rude service reveal inconsistent standards. Patrons love the comfort food and cozy vibe, but persistent service and quality-control issues suggest caution for new visitors until management addresses them.

I absolutely love this place. For Father?s Day I would not have chosen anywhere else. It has a very warm, community vibe where you feel like it?s your family of aunts and uncles running the joint. Food is always hot, fresh, delicious and QUICK. Theirsystem and service is great. Eppels never fails!

This is my go-to spot for a quick and tasty breakfast. The food is always fresh and cooked to order, which I really appreciate. The customer service is outstanding; the entire staff is fantastic, but Lyn really stands out—she’ll have you smiling and in a great mood all day. She's truly a vibe!

A tiny happy diner with good classic comforts. Worth the little wait if there is one and highly recommend the chocolate chip waffles and cajun sausage.

Went on w weekday morn, not that busy. Was seated and attended to quick, the folks here were nice and friendly. Really like the food, ordered some scrambled eggs pancakes. I drink decaf, and they brewed a fresh pot which was really nice. Will definitely come back here when I visit Chicago : Service: Dine in Meal type: Breakfast Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Cozy Saturday Morning Retreat at Eppel's Restaurant. Eppel's Restaurant is a hidden gem that has become my go-to spot for a cozy Saturday morning breakfast. Situated in the heart of the West Loop in Chicago, this charming eatery provides the perfect setting for a leisurely meal, making it an ideal place to pass the time and enjoy a delightful breakfast. The ambiance at Eppel's is warm and inviting, creating an intimate space that feels like a home away from home. It's the kind of place where you can savor the moment, and the attentive staff adds to the overall pleasant experience. On my recent visit, I opted for a classic combination: scrambled eggs with sausage links and buttermilk pancakes. The breakfast was a symphony of flavors that started my Saturday off on a delicious note. The scrambled eggs were expertly cooked, fluffy and light, with the perfect balance of seasoning. Paired with the savory goodness of the sausage links, each bite was a burst of savory delight. The combination of protein and flavor made for a hearty and satisfying breakfast. And then there were the buttermilk pancakes – a true indulgence. Light, fluffy, and slightly sweet, these pancakes were a perfect canvas for a drizzle of maple syrup. The stack was generous, and each bite was a comforting blend of texture and taste. The attention to detail in the preparation of the breakfast items at Eppel's is evident. The quality of ingredients and the thoughtful execution by the kitchen staff contribute to a memorable dining experience.
