While some appreciated the attentive staff and convenient location for holiday outings, others were disappointed by the quality of the food for Thanksgiving. The ambiance was described as upscale and relaxing, with some positive comments on dishes like the burger, mac n cheese, and avocado toast. However, there were also complaints about slow service, overcooked meats, and subpar meals. The atmosphere suggested a gastropub experience, while the food quality was likened to that of a diner. Prices were considered high, making some guests question the value.
I ordered the biscuits and gravy from the menu, which consisted of biscuits with chipotle sausage gravy, over easy eggs, and a cheddar potato cake. The dish was presented with a potato cake as the base, topped with an egg, a biscuit, and covered in gravy. The egg was cooked perfectly and the biscuit was soft and flaky, however, the potato cake didn't add much flavor. The chipotle flavor was overpowering, masking the taste of the cheddar. The service was subpar, with only three out of sixteen tables occupied upon my arrival. Despite all other tables being set with flatware and water glasses, mine was overlooked. I had to retrieve flatware from another table myself after water and coffee were served. It seemed like the staff was not attentive to the needs of their customers. After finishing my meal, only the busser offered to refill my coffee. The atmosphere of the restaurant suggests a more upscale and adventurous experience, but the service did not match the expectations set by the ambiance.
I?m going to give a five stars on the burger and fries. The meat was thick. The burger tasted great. I ate off it for two days. Love it
The food was awful. The restaurant is located in the Courtyard hotel lobby. The Caesar Salad tasted more like a ranch salad. The biscuits appeared to be canned and extremely dry. My wife's salmon was served over a canned tomato paste, and the potatoes were undercooked. It's essentially a lobby bar trying to pass off bad food as a gastropub. I had hoped for a restaurant owned by someone who truly cared, but this place just seems like a corporate sham.
Nice atmosphere, great waitstaff. The logo is weirdly awesome I shouldn?t care that much about a logo but I do. Menu wise, their mac and cheese was wonderful, their truffle fries yummy. But the real show stopper is the sheer quantity of quality mules. If you like mules, come here.
Located in the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown/Magnificent Mile, this restaurant has a separate entrance on East Ontario Street. We visited for lunch on a weekday around 11:20am and easily found a table. The restaurant was not crowded during our visit, and there is ample seating at the bar. The menu had a casual bar vibe, but the food exceeded our expectations with delicious flavors. The draft beer selection was good, and the wine and cocktail options were extensive, with a focus on Moscow mules. The service was prompt and our server was friendly and attentive. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant.
