Description

Cafecito offers a delightful range of Cuban and Latin-inspired dishes, adored for its unique flavors and vegetarian options. Diners rave about the Cuban sandwiches and the vibrant ambiance, featuring eclectic lighting and cozy seating. While the café is occasionally marred by slow service during peak times, particularly with takeout, patrons are often accommodating, appreciating the laid-back atmosphere. Signature items like the steak chimichurri platter and comforting desserts like tres leches shine, although some dishes may not fully embrace traditional Cuban cuisine. Overall, Cafecito is a must-visit for locals and visitors alike, celebrating diverse tastes in a welcoming setting.

I ordered the vegan mixto special and it was very tasty, although a bit salty. The highlight for me were the plantains, they were delicious!

The full vegan menu was a treat. The mixed vegan dish was delicious and came in a generous portion size. It was a great healthy meal that was filling without feeling heavy or unhealthy. They use Beyond Meat, but the seasonal preparation makes it stand out. The restaurant had a cozy and friendly atmosphere, and the staff helped us choose fantastic coffee and food options. Definitely worth the visit!

The vegan menu at this restaurant is exceptional. It's the best we've come across in Chicago. I wish I could dine here more frequently, but there aren't many vegan options in my hometown. While I wouldn't label myself a strict vegan, I follow a whole food plant-based diet and cook at home regularly. The meal we had here was delicious. Both my husband and I were delighted to discover this gem with the help of Happy Cow.
