Bombobar - Chicago
Bombobar
Description
Tucked into Bar Siena’s West Loop walk-up window, this cute dessert spot offers standout bomboloni and house-made gelato (hazelnut, cookies & cream, berry‑mango sorbet). Expect tasty treats but inconsistent availability, unclear ordering flow, long waits and no indoor seating; occasional shortages and steep prices frustrate visitors. Worth a try for donut and gelato fans who don’t need indoor dining or guaranteed menu items.

It's hard to like this place because if I stop by, I can never get anything on the menu. They always tell me they don't have it or it's sold out. Believe me, I love BomboBar, but it's hard to come here. I get embarrassment of the second hand when I bring friends out here because they never have anything at their disposal. I have tried to get a hot chocolate or even try that peanut butter shake, but always have to taste on a single dish ice cream that is usually not my favorite. But they usually have donuts that are a plus. Hopefully they can fix this problem. I always come hours before they close
Don't waste your time or money! This place is kind of confusing. Where are you going? Where do you order? Where are you waiting for your order? How do you know your order is ready? After about 10 minutes waiting and said they were from 4 of 12 flavors, we ordered 3 single pots and a waffle cone. Then we waited 15 minutes for our 3 pots! We had to ask for napkins, sit at a dirty table that was just before drinking, listen to music and try to enjoy our enjoyment. I'm really surprised that this place survives with so many other dessert spots in the area. Not worth the $17 or 34 minutes of your life! Find another place (Dairy Queen is better). *2 stars for delicious gelato
Donuts or bombalinis come warm. I got three for $5. The spread does not come in the bottles as shown. They come in small containers. You can choose up to 3 flavors. I have strawberry, vanilla and hazelnut. Strawberry tastes like jam, but not as thick. Vanilla was okay. Hazelnut was probably the better of the 3. You could not try the gelato because they had taken it away half an hour before closing. I would suggest going an hour before closing or earlier if you want to try the Gelato.
This was an apple cider. The hot chocolate looked even better but we forgot to take a photo. Service: Takeaway Price per person: $10–20
