The steak was dry, and the escargot was basically just a shot of melted butter. The chocolate mousse was so heavily infused with rum that it felt more like a cocktail than a dessert. To make matters worse, there were no prices listed anywhere, and I was shocked to receive a $350 bill for a meal I barely enjoyed. The seating is cramped, forcing you to sit so close to strangers that you end up overhearing their conversations whether you want to or not. Bistro Monadnock is not a hidden gem—it's not popular because the food and experience aren't that good. There are far better meals and atmospheres nearby for half the price.
