Was Susana at Beatrix a mag?
The brunch had a great selection. Loved the maple bacon, lemon pancakes and house lemonade. I will definitely go back. Hoping to get the same server, she was awesome. View all feedback.

What BarbaraC dislikes about Beatrix:
I had been here twice before and loved it both times. Was so excited to visit again. Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. I got the fish tacos. The fish was dry and the “slaw” was also lacking any real dressing, making the whole thing super dry. My husband had enchiladas and unfortunately chipped a tooth on a small bone left in the chicken. The service was basic and perfunctory. Probably won't be goin... View all feedback.

We felt rushed the entire time we were there. Salads came out with the main courses. On salad was incorrect and I got my desert and the check at the same time. If you’re looking for dinner and conversation, this is not the place. You have no time. Beatrix at Fulton Market is better.

Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of the different drinks and pastries when my group and I had questions before ordering. Everything tasted delicious and came out in a timely manner. We didn’t feel rushed and enjoyed our brunch there!

Toller Abend in der Beatrix Clark Street und absolut lecker Short Rib

Beatrix is a charming restaurant that seamlessly transitions from a sun-drenched brunch spot to an elegant bistro as the day progresses. The fresh, seasonal menu offers delightful dishes, such as ricotta and lemon pancakes and pan-roasted chicken with truffle glaze. The cocktails, like the grapefruit Paloma, are expertly crafted. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the open kitchen adds excitement to the dining experience. Don't miss out on their famous caramel pie. Overall, Beatrix provides a wonderful dining experience with outstanding drinks and creative, delicious menu items. It's a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a special dining experience.

I recommend ham and cheese croissant, it is delicious as well as the side salad. French fries are also good!

Normally I don’t have an issue with service but it was not up to standard. Maybe our server was new but he never came back to see if we needed anything, didn’t refresh our coffees.

Everything here is good. The salads are divine. The ingredients are so fresh I hardly have to use any salad dressing at all. Pro tip: don’t try and be a hero and eat one of their rice crispy treats in one sitting. Save half or share it. Lol

Tasty food but consistently slow service. This is my 2nd time coming to this location. It has a nice vibe and helpful staff but plan on waiting over an hour for your food.

Saying goodbye to Chicago Restaurant Week is always bittersweet, but I got to wrap up this years foodie festivities, on the very last day, here. They had one of the BEST menu offerings for restaurant week! Included in $42 was a drink (wine, beer or specialty cocktail), a starter, entree and dessert. Food drink I tried: Pour Decisions Loaded Guacamole Chicken Bebe Oh my! Caramel Pie Everything was a 10/10! The Chicken Bebe was so simple but full of flavor and the caramel pie? Delish!!! To top it all off, the service was great, from the hostess who raved about how she loved working for Lettuce Entertain You, to our fabulous server, who was so delightful and welcoming Now the wait begins for next years Chicago Restaurant Week!

While this is a beautiful restaurant that seems to strive for a more upscale experience, I'd say our visit was pretty underwhelming. We walked down from our rooms in the attached hotel and had a minimal wait, but actually getting seated took quite a bit of shuffling to the point that we were several minutes sat and the server came back and had us move us to a dirty table. Several staff members waited on our party of two, including a manager, and all together we maybe got bare minimum service. My iced matcha was undrinkable, but there wasn't any opportunity to do anything about it. My food was underwhelming and I left hungry. If you're gonna be a bougie brunch spot downtown, better make sure the staff are up to the rush. I think the food is just a miss for me because it wasn't bad, just blah.

Our first night in Chicago and we decided to venture out for dinner. It was a Tuesday night but this place was hopping (although thankfully not so hopping that we couldn't get a table . I had appetizers for dinner (something you can't do at home! and had the whipped feta and the hot honey brussel sprouts. The feta was okay but a little lack luster- I could have eaten three orders of the brussels though- omg!! They were sweet and savory and cooked to PERFECTION. We also got a number of desserts and were not disappointed by any of them. Our server was also excellent. All in all a very satisfying meal.

Food is always great. Service is a hit or major miss- always inconsistent. Every single time I go to Chicago, I take business guests to Beatrix and have been for several years. The food is very good. This past St. Patrick's Day weekend, I had the special Thai Fish Chips dinner and it was light and delicious. But the service was so horrendous that it completely ruined our evening. First, our server kept forgetting one of our drinks. So, 2 people were drinking while 1 kept waiting. Then, he got one of our orders wrong (put in chicken order when we ordered the tuna), so again, 2 people were eating while 1 was just sitting there waiting. The server came and apologized then went into a lengthy explanation about what happened (we don't really care to have a long discussion about it- we just want our food please). He did comp that dish. But after assuring us the chef says it'll be out in 3-4 minutes, it came out 15 min later. He hardly came around to check on us, so once we were missing a fork and another time we were missing a knife. We had to flag down other servers to get assistance. Then when we asked for the bill, he brought someone else's bill with their credit card still inside!! I'm sure our server felt bad with all the errors and he was a very nice guy, but our dining experience was just terrible. This was not the first time that service was bad, but it will probably be the last time I take guests to Beatrix.

Beatrix isn't your average restaurant. It's a chameleon, effortlessly shifting from sun-drenched brunch haven to chic bistro as the day melts into dusk. I've popped in for both, and let me tell you, this place has serious charm in every iteration. The menu is a celebration of fresh, seasonal ingredients. My go-to? The ricotta and lemon pancakes. They're pillowy soft, infused with a hint of citrus, and practically melt in your mouth. Don't even get me started on the housemade strawberry jam – it's like sunshine on a spoon. As the day deepens, Beatrix transforms into a cozy oasis. String lights twinkle overhead, casting a warm amber glow, and the chatter softens to a gentle hum. It's the perfect setting for an intimate dinner date or a catch-up with friends. The dinner menu is a touch more refined, but still playful. I devoured the pan-roasted chicken with root vegetables and a decadent truffle glaze – it was pure comfort food heaven. And let's not forget the cocktails – the grapefruit Paloma is a tart and refreshing masterpiece. But Beatrix is more than just good food (although, that's definitely a major draw). It's the little things that make the experience special. The staff is friendly and attentive, always there with a smile and a refill. And the open kitchen adds a touch of theater to the whole affair – it's mesmerizing to watch the chefs work their magic. P.S. Don't leave without trying a slice of their famous caramel pie. It's gooey, it's salty, it's perfection. You'll thank me later.

I like this place enough to have had breakfast thrice in a week. That is testament to how good the food is. They open comparatively early and are open into the night. Generally pretty busy, best to make a reservation unless you like waiting.

Great food, the steak dinner was amazing. I also had the salmon, and the glaze is the best around. The old-fashioned was made perfect. Highly recommend.

A very popular brunch spot, or really anytime of the day, in the River North area. They serve a decent number of classic breakfast dishes but have good looking lunch and dinner menu as well. I’d suggest making a reservation or be prepared to wait even on a weekday.FoodI got the prime burger and was satisfied it. The buns were my favorite part and were nicely toasted. The cheese melted on top of the patty added some nice flavors. Good amount of vegetables to balance it out. Fries were good but nothing too special.I got a fresh made lemonade as well and would recommend it if you are looking for something refreshing.AtmosphereThe place is bustling with people and lively. Noise level was not loud though. There are nice views of the street and perfect on a sunny day to get brunch with friends. The interior is nicely decorated.PricingPrices were average for food in Chicago and worth the food quality.ServiceService was great. The server was overly nice saying that I had to wait too long for my food even though it came out promptly.OtherI would make a reservation if possible because there will be a wait at this popular spot.

If I could do 3.5 I would but Google doesn't allow single person nuance, so I defaulted to the higher 4 stars because of service. We were there on a very rainy Monday evening. We got lucky with open Street parking at 510 pm right across the from the restaurant. Our server was very knowledgeable, personable, and was the best part of the day. The food is better than average. We had a few different dishes and everything was fine, tasty. The ambiance was nice and open. There was a good mix of solo people, couples or friends, and bigger groups.
