Read all this – shows how small our world is. I am currently in the city of chiasso at the border between italy and the Swiss. I am on the way for a submission in sardinia and flew to mailand. they want the super. expensive hotels in mailand avoid I took a slow train to chiasso and found a perfect small brot and breakfast next to the picturesque railway station. I went around to find a place to dinner and not a fan of Italian food (this part of the Swiss is all Italian) I found an Indian restaurant. I went in. there were no other customers. the dame spoke to me in a mix of hindi and punjabi and I could say that it was originally from punjab. looked down, and a heart came with the menu, he looked out and not a waiter. I just wanted to ask him if he knew bangla and he said, “Of course.” I went on to order a huh biriyani, and he promised to add kartomas in it and make it calcutta style. he was the owner and the chef, and the lady was his wife. he is a person of punjabi origin but grew up in calcutta. as our conversation continued, we realized that we lived in the CA market in caprice in him in labony, when I was in ac (circa we spoke of CA market, salt lake and everything calcutta. the couple brings this restaurant together and their only child is a year old son, what a coincidence! I asked him how they managed to be profitable, e.g. at a small place (place of a fawlty towers conversation). he said that all Indian travel groups who fly out of mailand after a European journey that includes zürich will stop in his restaurant for meals. chiasso is on the stretch from zürich to mailand. for the case that they are wondering, it is called shiva indian restaurant and is directly at the crossroads between chiasso (Switzerland) and como (Italian). when they go through chiasso and go to italia, they see it. it turned out that he and I both get dressed on dress emporium in CA market! morning to lunch he said that there will be a tour group and he serves a thali. I really had a wonderful evening – eating was excellent and stimulating the conversation. what a small world.

We had a great time there, the design, the food and the atmosphere were great, highly recommended!
