many vegan options. very friendly staff. delicious and cheap (khao soi is only thb 40). free water and there are toilets inside! updated by the previous review on 2022-07-29 View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tamachat:
limited number of precooked items from the front, but 5 or so items can be made further inside for ordering (with precooked ingredients). the khao soi was a good size, had a lot of fake meat and a very fleshy taste. every khao soi I eats differently than the last, so I have no idea how authentic it is. I don't complain about 40 bahts. View all feedback.
What a gorgeous little place. The people here are just so lovely. Food is cheap and amazing.
I ordered the Koi Soi and it was the best food I have had in Thailand so far, and I have been to many vegans and vegetarians. Also it was only 45 tbh Updated from previous review on 2024-01-13
The food here was good and the high ceilings and wood furniture made it a little more homely then other Kin Jay places I’ve been to. The mushroom loaf stuff was very good! Updated from previous review on 2024-01-07
This place was really convenient for lunch when we arrived at the bus station. It’s a superior jay restaurant with dishes made to order as well as a buffet and food store. We ordered a few dishes from the menu and they ranged from OK: the boat noodles and vegetables, with a fairly bland broth and gristly mushroom balls, to delicious: the Khao soi, to amazing: the stewed mushroom with noodles, with us rich tasty broth. Staff were friendly, generous and helpful. Definitely a place for lunch when you’re in Chiang Rai town (as it’s not open for dinner). Super low prices too ฿45 per meal. #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2024 01 04
One of the best Vegan meals I had anywhere in Thailand, and I had MANY . This place is run by a bunch of older ladies, they cook in the early hours of the day, and serve from around 6:30am to early afternoon hours. Different dishes each day, really good noodle soup, Chinese noodles, Khao Soi and basically anything in the pre-made bar. I ate there 3 times in my 3 days visit to Chiang Rai, each meal better than previous.
