The owners are very kind and easy to talk to. They have a friendly demeanor without being overly familiar, which I really appreciate. The food is consistently excellent, and the portions are generous. While the food might take a little time to arrive, I don’t mind waiting since I know it's being made fresh. I really love their prawn rolls and potato appetizer, and the fresh oysters were a delightful surprise! I once... View all feedback.
What Kate Mellison doesn't like about Yume Sushi:
I had a terrible experience with the sushi at this restaurant and definitely do not recommend it. I ordered five different sushi rolls and found the rice to be overly soggy and the fish had a foul odor, which led to a stomachache. The overall flavor was unappetizing. It’s clear that this restaurant needs to improve the quality of the food they serve. I ended up throwing everything in the garbage. Please avoid orderin... View all feedback.
Stopped in here for lunch as I love sushi and this place is never open for lunch when I am in Chestermere. It's a small and quaint family-run place that is quite clean and well-kept. The ambiance was a bit weird since there was no music and I was the only person dining (admittedly it was after the lunch rush). I always opt for the Bento box at a new Japanese restaurant to see if the preparation meets my taste. The miso soup was tasty and salty (it's hard to mess up miso though). The Cali roll was average for a sit-down restaurant, but came with loads of wasabi and ginger, which other places seem to skimp out on. Then came the Bento box. I ordered chicken teriyaki with sushi (the roll) and tempura. My eyes were immediately drawn to the tempura pieces: three vegetable with a milky off-white coloured batter and two shrimp with deep orange panko breading. The shrimp were crispy and hot, although the batter layer was almost too dense to bite through easily. The tempura veggies were unimpressive. They tasted doughy as if the cooking oil was not hot enough. The chicken teriyaki had lots of chicken pieces, but the sauce was not very flavourful and runny. The salad had a strange dressing that tasted as if they mixed together ranch and Catalina. I was desperate to.love this place, but it's definitely not on my list of restaurants I would return to.
Last minute lunch, turned epic meal because of the awesome service exceptional food quality. Even showing up early for lunch, the front house staff were super accommodating, and very pleasant. We really appreciated the extra attention from our gracious server, who recommended her favorites and checked on us multiple times. The sushi chef made a last-minute meal extremely memorable and delicious with really fresh ingredients, served very quickly. The meal was perfect. We will definitely return to Yume!
I order takeout from here regulalry. The spicy Salmon roll, and spicy tuna roll are super good. I would highly recommend trying this place out!
Lovely service staff!!! Everything was so well prepared and tasted great!! I've waited quite a while to try this place, and I was not disappointed. Prices are great.
Almost didn't come here due to the lower rating, but glad we decided to try it out! The food was really decent! The ramen is surprisingly good, but its not the best ive ever had by any stretch. The pork was perfectly cooked, but the egg was far too over cooked. It lacked the depth of flavor other places have. Portion size was very generous across all dishes had. Beef udon soup was alright, the broth lacked much flavor and depth of taste. We had the dragon kiss sushi which was alright, sushi was 4/5. Tempura shrimp were good and very crunchy, but the batter was a bit too thick for my preference 4/5. Service was decent, but I was confused when workers/owners came in smelling extremely heavy of Marijuana. As a fellow partaker, I didn't care. As a customer, I was weirded out a bit. All in all, if I was craving sushi/ramen and didn't want to go into calgary I would return, if I was craving really good food, I'd make the trip into calgary.
