Confusion over vegan/vegetarian options, slow service, and average food at a different visit. Despite this, a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. A mix of reviews, but Vickie stands out for her excellent service. Great for events with helpful staff and lovely grounds. Outstanding Sunday lunch and affordable meals, with a welcoming atmosphere for all. A top choice for breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee, especially for families. Overall, a mixed bag, but worth a visit for the friendly ambiance and good food.
Post lockdown coffee. Great coffee. Bit cold outside so sat at socially distanced table. Food looks as good as before. Friendly service but not much atmosphere.
I came here for a very late dinner. Good selection of food but the menu has V and Vg as options, but no explanation as to if this is vegan or vegetarian. When asked staff did not seem sure either and had to go into the kitchen to find out what was vegan. The only options were sausage roll and pasty. I ordered the later and a drink. About 10 mins later I was told that the pasty would take longer than the 10 minutes I had been told, but I had not been given and time scale. When it arrived the pasty was nice and served with a lovely side salad.
There seems to be a completely different atmosphere compared to how it was a couple of months ago. Also the menu has changed with less choice for a lunch. Two main choices of sausage and mash or a 'Special ' of vegan chilli baked potato. Even the coffee is not so good now. Used this place for years but will now look elsewhere.
I was on a course here, a good venue for a conference or course), and visited the coffee shop! The staff friendly, the venue clean, airy, a good choice on menu, everything made fresh, the cakes etc home made, we had jacket potatoes with cheese and beans, it came with a large fresh crispy salad and home made coleslaw, everything reasonably priced, we certainly be visiting again.
The food was very good and staff pleasant but to be honest I have been going here since it opened a number of years ago and nothing has changed in the environment except due to COVID there are less table and chairs All good places need to keep up with the times and up date their environment and this cafe definitely needs to invest in new table, chairs and redecoration. And Plastic school chairs outside is not very enticing. All this is well and good if you are paying very cheap prices but £7.00 for a toasted sandwich is not cheap so you would expect things to be kept updated. I am not writing this review to be horrible, I have visited this establishment since it opened and used to love going …but having not been for some time I was shocked at how drab it all had become. Come On ST Thomas’ the food is good, the staff are lovely …..put some investment into making the cafe a pleasant and modern place to be .
