I frequently visit this restaurant while my daughter is at dance class. The tea is served in a charming teapot and the sugar cubes are a nice touch. The cakes are delicious, with so many tempting options that it's hard to choose just one. The service is top-notch even when the restaurant is busy. View all feedback.
What Angie C doesn't like about Grey's Cafe:
There was nothing wrong with the sandwiches and cakes we ate here but for it to cost 25 pounds for 3 people to eat this, given the fact that you can get full meals for cheaper elsewhere in Chesterfield such as Wetherspoons and Einstein's, is ridiculous. No matter how nice a relatively small sandwich is very few people would be happy to pay more than a full cooked meal is worth. The café itself is nicely presented and... View all feedback.
This charming restaurant is relatively small but has a delightful atmosphere. There are four or five tables with chairs, as well as some comfortable padded chairs and a two-seater settee. The menu is not extensive, but the portions are generous and offer excellent value. I tried the tea loaf and found it very tasty, and also took home an orange and lemon cake for later. The hot chocolate I ordered came with a generous serving of cream and marshmallows. The restaurant has a friendly and relaxed ambiance, and although I was initially the only customer, more people gradually arrived to enjoy the food and drinks. It's a great place to have a quiet drink or enjoy a satisfying panini, sandwich, jacket potato, or a slice of cake. Keep in mind that the cafe is located upstairs in the Chesterfield Antiques Centre, so there are about a dozen stairs to climb, which may make it less accessible to some. However, if that's not an issue for you, it's a lovely little hideaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Look for the folding board outside for more precise directions to the restaurant.

Called into this little café last Saturday after reading about it on trip advisor. We were not disappointed the soup was delicious and the sandwiches were nicely presented. well worth a visit
Bobbed in today with my mum for a cuppa and cake quite a hidden gem...... quirky to the eye, the tea pot for one was generous and the coffee cake delicious all supported by friendly service, we will definitely be returning to try the afternoon tea which looked amazing!!
My husband, children, and I visited this charming café located in the antiques center. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, with the homemade cakes being a standout. The café has recently been taken over by a new woman owner who is very friendly. We will definitely be returning in the future.
