We went here on a Saturday morning for breakfast and got the last table available. I had a huge breakfast (not the belly buster thankfully) which was great value for good quality food and included tea/coffee and refills if required. The owner was warm, welcoming...and couldn’t do enough for you instilling great service in her staff also. Next time I’m in Chesterfield, I’ll be back for some lovely food in a nice littl... What DJD140215 doesn't like about Filippelli's Bistro:
Sunday Roast had two lots of mash but no roast potatoes. Veg was a bit soft, particularly the cauliflower. The chicken was sliced and was juicy. My husband enjoyed his lasagne. Service was friendly and welcoming. View all feedback.
Best place in Chesterfield for a good, hearty and very reasonably priced breakfast and their pancakes are fantastic.
Three of us came to Filipellis for a late cooked breakfast for the first time. We found out that they serve breakfast until 2pm, but there were also a variety of other meal options on the menu such as roast of the day, lasagne, quiche, sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, cakes, and more. They were also offering afternoon teas and Christmas lunches. The cafe is uniquely decorated and cozy, with only 7-8 tables so it's recommended to make a reservation. The staff, especially the owner Sylvia, were friendly and welcoming. Sylvia showed a caring attitude towards her regular customers, which was really genuine. Our breakfasts were delicious with generous portions of bacon, egg, Lincolnshire sausage, mushrooms, beans, hash browns, tomatoes, and toast. We were completely satisfied and happy! It's no surprise that they were recently voted the best breakfast in Derbyshire. The meal also includes tea or filter coffee with a refill for £9.95. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you Filipellis for a great time!
The staff at this restaurant always welcome us with a friendly smile. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious options, from tasty breakfasts to filling lunches and sweet treats. We recommend making a reservation if you definitely want to dine here, as it fills up quickly due to the large number of loyal customers. They also offer gluten-free and vegetarian options.
During my first and only visit to this cafe, I met up with friends for breakfast. Upon arrival, the cafe seemed to be a lovely and cozy place with unique decor, serving delicious food and coffee. However, the experience was marred by the incredibly loud and noisy staff. One staff member even fired another staff member in front of customers, proceeded to loudly complain about the fired employee, and created a disruptive atmosphere. The owner and her family also came in and made a lot of noise, with the owner shouting across the cafe and being intrusive throughout our meal. As someone who has worked in the catering and hospitality industry for over 20 years, I found this behavior to be extremely unprofessional. This unpleasant experience overshadowed what should have been a nice breakfast with friends. Perhaps the young lady and the owner could benefit from some hospitality training. On a positive note, the other staff members were polite and helpful.
Our first visit to this quirky cafe, loved the layout and the furniture and decoration.we immediately felt comortable and welcome. We had bacon cobs, very nice bread and bacon cooked perfectly, coffee was refilled for me with hot milk.We will be going again when we visit Chesterfield which is usually every other week. Many thanks to Sylvia and her staff.
