My family and I have visited this place for many years. The portions are perfect and so is the quality. The dry pot smacks, double boiled pig, the generals Tsos is hands down my favorite of any Chinese food place. God bless Lemon Tree. I'm not lying, that's a real review. Love? View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Lemon Tree Asian:
I had a disappointing experience at Lemon Tree. The rice served to me was old and spoiled, which was quite unpleasant. I recommend avoiding this place, as there are plenty of much better Chinese restaurants nearby. View all feedback.
Two young children handled all of the service. They did their best given their ages, but their focus on playing was a bit distracting. After taking our order, they brought our food to the table, but it took a while for me to receive my Egg Drop Soup, which was served after I had already eaten most of my entree. I was surprised to see that the food was served on paper plates; I didn’t expect that from this type of restaurant. I use paper plates at home, so it wasn’t a significant issue, just unexpected. When our sodas were served, my glass had a greasy rim, and they didn’t provide straws, making it difficult for me to drink. Throughout our meal, no one came by to check on us, and while I looked around for someone to inform, the kids were busy playing, and the adult was preoccupied in the back preparing food. Eventually, I took my glass to the counter and waited for the adult to assist me, but he was still occupied. There was a fridge with bottled sodas behind me, so I decided to leave my glass on the counter and grab one. I intended to exchange it and just pay for the bottled drink, but since no one came over, I took it. When my soup finally arrived, it was in a plastic container. I wanted to add Sriracha but couldn’t get anyone’s attention, so I had to eat it as it was. The food itself wasn’t bad, but it lacked the flavor I usually expect from General Tso’s chicken. It was sweet but different—not unpleasant, just not what I was used to. After finishing our meal, we waited at the counter for a while until a young girl noticed us and processed our payment. I mentioned that I had switched my Sprite for a bottled soda due to the dirty glass. I’m not sure if she charged me for both or just one, but I paid whatever she calculated. Based on previous reviews, it seems there may have been some changes at this place. I believe the family is doing their best under challenging circumstances, and I wish I could have had a better experience.
I decided to try having dinner there tonight and placed my order over the phone, which was supposed to take 15 to 20 minutes. However, I ended up waiting for an hour and a half and was repeatedly told it would be “just 15 more minutes.” The staff was quite rude to the customers as well. I definitely won’t be returning.
I didn't realize that this restaurant was under new management. The food is nothing like what we used to enjoy. The steamed dumplings had a strange taste and were still bland. The wonton soup also had an unusual flavor, and they used the same mystery meat in the dumplings as well. I won't be returning. It was also strange that they were still only offering takeout and provided us with old menus to order from when we walked in.
Like recent review said, seems like this place is under new management and menu has changed. Thankfully my favorite fried rice is still pretty much the same for a higher price. Thank heavens!
I’ve been going to Lemon Tree for nearly 10 years and I don’t know if they were recently sold or they’re under new management but the food is completely different. From the taste, quality, down to the containers, everything is like your average Chinese place now. Very sad, I guess it’s the end of an era.
