During a week in Chester we had several coffees and treats and a super breakfast. After our first visit staff recognized us and all were very friendly. My wife and I had several lattes over the week and when we asked for a lemon square to share they cut it in two from corner to corner and put it on two plates with a little decoration. A nice touch. We had breakfast on our last day and the eggs benedict were good and... View all feedback.
What Otilia Friesen doesn't like about Kiwi Café:
I don't mind finding my own table. I don't mind waiting until the server is ready to look after us, but I do mind being forgotten after being served. Good atmosphere, good food but poor service. Would benefit from some organization or signs, or someone at the door to direct people. A little chaotic at the register, we could have walked away without paying as no one was looking after us, but didn't. View all feedback.
Fun atmosphere. We sat outside on the deck. Friendly staff, tasty food! They had an extensive menu and prices were reasonable.
The food was awesome. It was great to have so many healthy options. The restaurant has a pretty laid back small town vibe. Will definitely return!
Based on their super slow service I really wanted to give them an average rating. But their food was so good, I just couldn't do it. I was there twice, once we ate at the restaurant, and the food was great, the service was not bad. But when we came back to order take-out for a fishing trip, the service was horribly slow and they messed up our order. So my advice is if you want to eat there, because the food is good, only go when you have the time to sit and eat.Hopefully they are working on training their staff to be more efficient with their time, their inexperience and stress was very sad to watch.
We stayed in Chester a walk away from The Kiwi Cafe and made it our unofficial home base. Breakfast every morning there and lunch the day we arrived. Each time we had something different and each time it was great. Breakfast sandwich, eggs breakfast, Lox and cream cheese, pancakes, for breakfast and the lobster sandwich for lunch were all awesome. Atmosphere is great, we have a 7 month old and all the staff we're so friendly with her. It's a must visit if you're staying or passing through Chester.
I love the Kiwi, and cannot miss any opportunity to return. Not cheap, but there are many interesting items on the menu and it always tastes good. You get the feeling that the ingredients are of the highest quality. Recently extended, the layout is good for Solo, Families and even groups. Very wide variety of teas and some excellent coffee. I have not sampled the alcoholic beverages, but the selection is interesting.
