ClubHouse - Chester

We decided to go to the Chester Golf Club for lunch after it was recommended by a lady in New Ross. We don't golf but that doesn't matter, you can still eat here. At first I was just going to get the special which was a chicken quesadilla, but the waitress said they were known for their seafood so I ordered the seafood bake. I'm so glad I did because it was delicious and full of seafood! It had haddock, lobster, scallops and shrimp with mushrooms. It was like seafood chowder without the potatoes, just loads of seafood! It came with a puff pastry on top which was perfect for dipping in the sauce. It also came with rice and sautéed vegetables on the side. I was happily full when I finished it. My husband had the lobster clubhouse and fries, and he said that it was very good.It had a great view of the sailboats, and a bunch of ducks on the back lawn. So cute!!We would definitely recommend it, and hope to go back soon.

Nice dining room and also both covered and outdoor terraces. Excellent menu and stunning views. Service is always very good, and the staff are always ready to meet any reasonable request. I have not had a disappointing meal here, although I think some fish has been frozen

We spent a week in Nova Scotia very impressed with the level of culinary excellence at every level of dining. Then we had dinner at the Clubhouse. The salads had the quality of bagged lettuce and were sprinkled with packaged pre-cut shredder cheese. The fish was fresh but overcooked. Poached salmon had the consistency of rubber. The vegetables... no words to describe as we were not sure what was on our plate. The worst was the rice pilaf which was clearly a packaged product that the chef boiled to the texture of oatmeal. Having been previously wowed by the food in Nova Scotia this meal was truly depressing. The chef should find another job at the golf course he/she is more suited for such as greenskeeping.

My husband and I had been disappointed by many of the places we had eaten in the area -- all rather average. This was recommended by the owner of our B&B, and it is certainly nothing we would have tried without a recommendation. First, the view is amazing! It overlooks the water and nearby islands. There is outside seating, outside screened in seating, and inside seating. The service was fast and friendly. I had the fishcakes and salad -- it was obvious the salad was made from fresh vegetables in the area. It was great and would have made a wonderful meal by itself. The fish cakes were good -- along with the small bowl of chow that accompanied it. My husband had the shrimp and scallops served over rice, and he said they were some of the best he had eaten. I look forward to visiting this restaurant again, and while it is off the beaten path, it is certainly worth the windy road to get there.

Clubhouse has a wonderful dining room, with the highest quality of food,special seafood dishes that are at the top of of your dining wishes! A fantastic view of the harbour, islands,yachts, homes ,birds, and golfers! Put the two together and you can enjoy an evening in Chester favorite golf course.
