Fuoco Apizza - Cheshire
Fuoco Apizza
Description
Fuoco’s Pizza in Cheshire has stirred mixed reactions among patrons. While many praise its thin, crispy crust and flavorful toppings, reminiscent of iconic New Haven style pizzas, some customers express disappointment over inconsistencies in quality and pricing. Reports of burnt pizzas and miscommunication on orders have left a sour note for certain diners. However, the welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and BYOB option enhance the overall dining experience. With a tasty selection of salads and Foxon sodas, Fuoco’s remains a promising choice for pizza lovers, offering a local alternative to the legendary New Haven spots.

This restaurant is absolutely perfect! We'll start with the most important part - the crust, which is cooked using coal to give it a crispy exterior with charred spots on the bottom that require two hands to hold a slice. The dough is delicate and has a fantastic taste on its own, but is then topped with perfectly seasoned crushed tomatoes and a mix of grated cheese. The mozzarella on top was just enough to bubble and brown, not chewy or greasy but silky smooth. My toppings were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the quality of the sausage they used was excellent! This is definitely a new haven of apizza, ranking among the best in town. Make sure to visit and try their delicious pizzas!
I've been waiting for Cheshire to have a GREAT pizza place! There is good pizza, but now that Fuoco is here there is finally great pizza. Highly recommend the Sopressata pizza. Fuoco is the only place that I order pizza from anymore.
The pizza was fantastic. I also enjoyed a salad that was delicious and of high quality. The dining area is on the smaller side, but the overall eating experience was great.
My girlfriend called Fuoco Apizza to order three pizzas for a dinner party, specifically requesting white sauce pizzas because none of our guests eat red sauce. However, when the pizzas arrived, two of them were made with red sauce. Upon calling to speak with the manager, I was told the order was prepared exactly as requested, with the manager even claiming three people were listening to the call. This was surprising since we have always clarified the availability of white sauce pizzas before ordering. Additionally, the one white sauce pizza we did receive—the clam pizza—was burnt and charred, forcing us to cut away large portions. Despite all this, the Fuoco Apizza team insisted that no mistakes were made, even though my girlfriend was explicitly told her order would be white sauce-based. This $90 error was dismissed by management as a "communication error" with no interest in making it right. From now on, CheshirePizza will be our go-to spot. If you choose Fuoco Apizza, be sure to clearly specify your order from their menu, or you risk having a house full of guests with nothing to eat and paying more than the pizza is worth.
