This pub is fantastic. You can enjoy a meal and drinks here, with ample seating in the garden. It's family-friendly and the chefs, Nathan and Chris, are amazing. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The decor is clean and the restaurant is open all week. It's great value for money, with accessible facilities for disabled customers and parking available. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Wheatsheaf Inn:
Cheap. Reasonably quick. Can't recommend the food. Thin leathery steak with a large lump of untrimmed fat and a generous amount of gristle (see picture), burnt onions, soggy onion rings and tiny burnt mushroom. Other dishes also not impressive. Won't be back. View all feedback.
A place for a family stop-off, following a visit to the zoo. Good for young families.
Wheatsheaf is a chain pub, so you have to review it under that lens. For a chain pub the food is genuinely really good, well executed and quick to arrive. The main selling point of this place is the staff, they deserve a raise. Special shout-out to Mark. I've been a few times with my toddler and he's always so friendly, helpful and accommodating. Ultimately at price point pretty cheap, think £9 a main) I unreservedly don't have anything negative to say about the service, food, drinks and ambiance. Cheers to all the team, Michael &Arty)
Sizzling chicken, veg and chips, lived up to its promise of arriving to table 'sizzling '. Very enjoyable and friend enjoyed her fish, chips and mushy peas. Staff very helpful and friendly. Quiet today as in middle of week so atmosphere a bit muted but I imagine that at busy times the place comes alive. Definitely recommend a visit.
Great local pub friendly staff good food cheap beer good venue
Staff were lovely, very friendly. Food was ok, but there wasn't much of a variety for all dietary requirements. Pub itself desperately needed a renovation. Had a tired feel, locks and toilet seats missing in bathroom, which also looked like it hadn't been cleaned thoroughly for a while.
