What User likes about The Codfather:
We had one large chips and curry sauce to share between two adults lovely spicy sauce and good chips, though a large is a bit smaller than we're used to sharing from elsewhere. That said, we're quite satisfied, and it's probably better than being overloaded by the monstrous portions some chippies do! We prefer when fish and chips come in paper or card, rather than polystyrene. View all feedback. What Sue Kenyon doesn't like about The Codfather:
Didn’t realise you had to ask for mushy peas to be served in a carton I assumed like other chippies that’s how they’re be served. Instead peas were slopped all over chips then fish sat on top. Chips stuck together, fish batter soggy. Ruined what could have been a lovely fish supper. Service: Take out Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £1–10 Food: 2 Service: 2 View all feedback.

read moreOnce celebrated for its exemplary fish and chips, The CodFather is now facing a steady decline in quality that has left many loyal patrons disheartened. While some diners still praise the friendly service and occasional decent meals, recurring complaints highlight issues with greasy fish and poorly prepared chips, often described as stale or reheated. Although the restaurant retains a loyal customer base, a growing number of reviews convey dissatisfaction, with patrons expressing concern over the consistency of the food. As the former gem struggles to maintain its reputation, potential visitors may want to reconsider their dining plans.
