We were staying locally at Shrigley Hall but wanted to support a local business rather than paying for a hotel lunch. We ventured here to a quirky little place with so much choice. The waitress was run off her feet on an unexpectedly busy day but she was trying her best. This is clearly a popular place with locals/ regulars. Mains such as salmon in a white wine sauce were around £13 but snacks such as toasties are £5... View all feedback.
What Barnaby21 doesn't like about The Coffee Tavern:
The restaurant is in a beautiful location and serves a tasty cream tea. However, we were disappointed to find that the friendly and welcoming customer service mentioned in other reviews was lacking during both of our visits. It seemed like our presence was not appreciated by the server. This is unfortunate because it is unlikely that we will return to this restaurant. View all feedback.
It’s an unusual place to visit as it’s a converted chapel, excellent food and dog friendly! A lovely place to visit for lunch.
Whether it's a quick coffee or a big feast lunch, you won't be disappointed. There's a wide range of main meals, snacks, sandwiches and sweet treats available for all tastes and all fantastic value. The place and staff are both brimming with character and make you feel at home. I can recommend any of the meals, followed by the best waffles I've ever tasted!
This is a really nice little cafe set in nice surroundings. A good choice of nicely cooked food. Can get busy but its worth the wait.

The waitress was run off her feet on an unexpectedly busy day but she was trying her best. This is clearly a popular place with locals/ regulars. Mains such as salmon in a white wine sauce were around £13 but snacks such as toasties are £5ish. We had crumpets, cheese on toast, two mochas, a slice of lemon and a slice of chocolate cake cakes were delicious! All came to £19.30.
Got treated by my daughter on Father’s Day today. I had the hot beef muffin with a side of chips… muffin was huge with stacks of roast beef and onions inside.Quick and very friendly service and very reasonable prices considering how many other places have jacked up their prices since the lock down. can’t recommend this place enough!
