Contribute FeedbackNestled in a picturesque setting, the Swan offers a charming ambiance paired with a varied menu that impresses many guests. While the food is consistently praised for its quality and presentation—ranging from traditional roasts to exquisite seafood—the service experience can be hit or miss. Many patrons commend the friendly and attentive staff, highlighting their promptness, while a few mention less welcoming encounters with management. Despite some minor drawbacks, like limited dessert options, the Swan remains a recommended destination for those seeking a delightful dining experience in a welcoming atmosphere.
Excellent experience. My friend and I throughly enjoyed our lunch. Food and service brilliant! A must try, you will not be disappointed!
Used to be a local in the 90s and revisited this evening to see how things had moved on. Food service was excellent and clearly a large investment has been made and transformed this village pub. If you're into Brunning Price style this is for you and worth a look if you'd usually use The Combermere Arms. Plenty of welcoming bar space with casual dining with wood burners plus a garden room offering more formal dining. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommended!
Quite looking forward to a delicious meal but as soon as we walked in the atmosphere put a dampner on the evening. The host was positively hostile. The food to be fair was ok. Never felt so unwelcome.
Warm friendly staff/atmosphere very welcoming. Food homemade, top quality especially steak and Ale pie. Very accommodating with picky eaters. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit only 10 mins walk from Canal. Under new management.
I had an evening in the swan last week with the ther half and the dogs while we where having a canal boat holiday on the llangollen hotel. We moored up before the first lock after Wrenbury boat yard and walked left for about 5 minutes to find the pub.
