As with other M&S locations, this one has closed down. The cafe that used to sell delicious food and drinks is gone, along with the option to browse for clothes, underwear, gifts, or pick up online orders. The department store building is now becoming more and more run down. There is an out of town food hall, but it's hard to access by bus and even difficult by car. The food was expensive, so I never bought any. Many elderly people who can't drive or afford a car will now have to go without. Macclesfield is starting to look like a run-down area, which is discouraging to visit. It's time for town planners to come up with a sensible solution to this problem. Opening more coffee shops and eateries won't help if there's no shopping to draw people in. A similar situation happened in Sale and now it's a ghost town. It's disappointing to see such lack of foresight, poor decision-making, and high prices driving people away from the only accessible place. Marks & Spencer, what will you do about all these empty buildings that are falling into disrepair? You have a responsibility to address this issue.
The restaurant has a clean environment and friendly staff. They offer a healthy breakfast at a reasonable price, with quick service and a smile. Special recognition goes to the two ladies working behind the counter on Friday, April 15th at 9:30. They were a credit to the company. Well done!
In today's circumstances, you can trust M&S to offer excellent service, and while out for a walk, I was in need of a refreshment. The staff was friendly, the environment was clean and spacious - not a single complaint. A cup of Earl Grey tea accompanied by a toasted teacake with butter and jam was just what I needed. The only downside was that you had to purchase a small jar of jam, which was 10% of the size of a regular jar (for just one teacake), resulting in a 300% mark-up. It would be helpful if they offered small plastic containers or something similar instead.
Had a deliciouse turkey ,bacon, stuffing and cranberry sandwhich followed by a gorgeous eyes gut busting mince pie. Yes I made my first christmass wish and that's between me and farther christmass. My mocha was not best but my aunt enjoyed her gingerbread latte. Don't sit next to the toilets they are very smelly.
Good thing about M&S is that you can guarantee the quality. Black coffees and egg and cress sandwiches. Staff friendly and helpful will go again
