Eat in at Chatwins regularly and tried their Yorkshire Pudding wrap this time around. Far too much for one person but finished it nevertheless packed full of pork, sausage, bacon, stuffing, and amazing Yorkshire pudding. Awesome. View all feedback.
What Sensiblefriend doesn't like about Chatwins:
Whilst the food is OK the fundamental organisation is absolutely terrible. The waiting time is not acceptable and the staff have no focus or leadership! Terrible View all feedback.
New employees in the restaurant, but pleasant and friendly, eat a bit rustic and not up to chatwin's normal high standards. needed to inform the manager about the condition of the toilet, not there errors, but should be checked more frequently. all reasonable lunch.
The Bratpork-Bap is very tasty and I will recommend it to anyone who loves roast
A good choice of hot food to eat or take away. all their broth are good at, and the fresh cream cakes are amazing. the staff is friendly and helpful. if you have never been in a chatwins, that is very sad
Lunchtime Why not try chatwins for a cake and a lovely hot beef sandwich. On entering I asked the lady for a cake and another member of staff asked if I would like anything else. I said a hot beef sandwich please. So she started slicing (more like hacking at it) it was that dry. Two painful hacked at pieces of beef later she asked if I would like stuffing. I said I would like a fresh slice and not the dried up piece that had been left underneath the heat lamp. And she said it wasn’t there policy. I guess the customer isn’t right anymore. The moral of this story is….. 50 feet down the road is a butchers that sells packed hot beef sandwiches with friendly smiles and for half the price. Chatwins sandwiches £6.40 For two pieces of meat. And not so great staff. Well done chatwins 0/10
Called in , against better judgment really as I’ve been before, but being the only coffee shop with a table in we went. Completely agree with another reviewer, service definitely shouldn’t take as long as it does, especially not just for coffee and cake. There were lots of staff around too. A young lad seemed to be the only one clearing tables, while the girls chatted, there doesn’t feel like a nice friendly and welcoming atmosphere either. Both times I’ve been now I’ve felt like an interruption. This lad then proceeded at 3pm to ask an older member of staff if he could go and also how would she have rated his performance out of ten for that day. If she was actually his senior she should have taken him out of public view for this conversation, but no, she proceeded with an obviously crushing conversation where she told him he was a 6- sadly he looked to have expected better. She then proceeded to hug another staff member, asking them not to leave her as she was going to miss them , all while this poor lad stood like a lemon waiting for his feedback session to either continue or end. This doesn’t feel like a well run place or a comfortable place either. Hope this keen lad gets a job where everyone pulls their weight and he’s treated with a bit more respect
