This morning, feeling the effects of said event, I can only sa... read more On our last visit, we signed up for the wine tasting and tapas evening. Last night was the night! This morning, feeling the effects of said event, I can only say what a great evening we had! Seven wines, seven small plates and excellent company led to a rather inebriated bus ride home. Lello, ever effusive, provided us with some amazing dishes, and his guest sommelier told us all about the wines. Not small glassfuls but at least 125ml each! Dish after dish of great quality including pasta, risotto, slow cooked beef shin, pate…. We met some lovely people too.

The restaurant is nicely decorated and furnished, and the owner and chef are both Italian. There’s no specials board as such but we were given a list verbally and would have chosen any of the items! We settled on the focaccia with cheese to start with a pizza sized garlic bread which was fresh and delicious. Off the specials, husband had the haddock wrapped in Parma ham, with lemon and vegetables. Let’s just say there was nothing left on his plate! I had the fusilli mare fusilli pasta with prawns, salmon and mussels in a tomato sauce. The portion was generous! My husband finished it for me. We had a good chat with Lello, and decided to book on one of the restaurant’s special evenings wine tasting with tapas style food! Can’t wait!

We will not be returning the meal was ok but for what it cost there was hardly anything there especially vegetables it was very sparse in fact hardly there there was more salad than anything else. Then the owner/manager came out shouting at the staff in front of us as we were sat in the front by the bar. Very unprofessional. Also my husband was sick all night after eating there so I would avoid at all costs.
