Many commend the friendly service and accommodating staff, particularly during special occasions; however, concerns about declining food quality persist. While the ambiance and attentiveness are often praised, some diners report inconsistent meal experiences and a lack of attention to detail, such as forgotten bread rolls and delayed food service. Afternoon tea receives accolades for its generous offerings and delightful treats, contrasting with some main courses deemed overpriced. Despite its shortcomings, loyal visitors maintain hope for improvement, particularly in food quality and overall dining value.
I reserved a room at Alderley Edge to celebrate my 30th and my partner's 40th birthdays. The staff at the restaurant were amazing and ensured that our day and night went off without a hitch. Lucy was extremely helpful in organizing the event and it turned out to be the perfect party! There was plenty of parking for our guests, the food was accommodating for all dietary preferences, and the bar staff were friendly and efficient. I would give them a 5-star rating and highly recommend this restaurant!
Went with friends for dinner. Nice welcome from the staff on arrival and good chat at the table. Decor lacked a bit of character but overall a good experience. Food was good, particularly enjoyed the steak (from the grill) and venison. Deserts were good too. My wife loved the tart tartin and the 'snickers ' was delicious. Quite expensive, especially the wines, but would go again.
Excellent Night ambience fantastic restaurant lovely staff you couldn’t fault very attentive great personalities couldn’t do enough for you Food Excellent prices acceptable for the setting well worth a visit would definitely go back and happy to recommend Great choice of wine
This restaurant is brilliant. The food was really amazing. Highly recommended. I had thesalmon starter and the halloumi salad and thoroughly enjoyed them. Lovely atmosphere too
We’ve been visiting family and eating here for early Christmas from London for five years now. The service is and always has been excellent. The food used to be superb. What we had last night would just be acceptable for gastropub food not fine dining. Steak at £25 without the inclusion of any side dishes was simply not worth the cost. The goats cheese mousse was not light and airy as ‘mousse’ suggests. I couldn’t eat it as it was too cloying. Each year we hope it will get better, but sadly it’s declining. We weren’t even offered any of their previously wonderful selection of bread rolls at all with our meal a basic faux pas and I can only assume a cost cutting exercise. We’ll be finding somewhere with better quality and better value for next year.
