On entering the smart, modern decor makes you stop and check where you are. This chic brasserie must surely be in the up market section of a city. The menu is well balanced be you vegetarian or carnivore and the wine selection is well within the reach of most pockets. Well worth a visit. View all feedback.
What CharlesFleming2486 doesn't like about Brasserie Les Louriers:
We thought we should investigate the recently re opened restaurant. Pleased to see that it was fairly busy. The only menu available at lunchtime appears to be the 3 course 13 euros with a choice of 2 starters, 3 main courses and 2 desserts or cheese. We thought the dishes were all rather uninteresting. My wife chose a melon and ham entree and cod with rice main course portions were adequate. I had a mozzerella and tomato entree and a tagliatelle with salmon main course, portions were small. Nice touches water with ice, it was a very hot day. Not sure it really our sort of place but we wish them luck with their new venture.

We were told that this was such a good restaurant. So we went, last week, with friends. We were 6 in total. The weather was nasty so we could not enjoy the view, which in daytime and with nice weather will be no doubt be splendid. FOOD: Starters: The courgette soup was indeed very nice and I was assured that is was vegetarian. (So also no broth from meat I hope, as I had no time to ask, no there was no meat in it.... . The other starters (tapas and escargots, you can 't really go wrong with that , were OK as well. Then the main courses came. A steak which was, according to the one who ordered that: very good. Two others had chicken breast. Tasts differ as one of these two said it was overcooked (almost black! whilst the other said that the same was very OK. Hardly any vegetables though, with it just rice. Two others had a porc shank, both really undercooked! With this: a lot (and then I really mean a LOT of french fries but also hardly any vegetables,. Myself, a vegetarian, had the veggie pasta dish. A creamy sauce with some broccoli, onions and herbs, which tasted fine but not special and after about 6 mouths full I got really bored with the taste. Besides that the pasta was sticky and most of it almost cold. Like it had been cooked earlier that day and was more or less reheated just before serving. Desserts: 3 of us had ice cream, which was simple but OK. It is a two man (husband and wife enterprise. She does the cooking, he does the rest and they are therefore hard working people and not unpleasant. As far as the food, for dinner, is concerned: Sorry, but 4 out of the above mentioned 6 will probably not go there again.
The owners here have created a lovely place, superb decor and a great menu. Service is excellent. I would definitely go again
Now Auberge du Pont, very good quality of meal and service
