This place was a total surprise package.<br/ When we were doing the rounds in Sowcarpet checking out new places, my friend told me 'If you want great chat, let... read more This place was a total surprise package.<br/ When we were doing the rounds in Sowcarpet checking out new places, my friend told me 'If you want great chat, let 's go to Hemant '.<br/ The first thing I saw when I walked in was the amount of butter being used to toast ONE pav, instantly I knew I 'd have a good food experience.<br/ <br/ Started with the Pani Puri, the only Pani Puri that comes even close to Gangotree for me. However, the 2nd time I visited this place, it didn 't taste as good.<br/ <br/ The Pav bhaji was pretty good. But the butter used was SO much that the pav became a little soggy. I like mine crisp. And guys, I am not exaggerating, you 'd use the same amount of butter for a week at home.<br/ <br/ The tawa pulao was my pick of the lot. Outstanding!<br/ The flavour, the smell of butter, the mix of spices and the raita made one heck of a combination.<br/ <br/ One thing though, I found the flavor and smell of garlic to be on the stronger side in both the pav bhaji and the tawa pulao. <br/ <br/ Service is quick, the food is priced reasonably and you 'd be lucky to get a table if you go during the peak hours.<br/ <br/ If you 're a chat lover and you wanna tick off all the best places in Chennai, add this to your itenerary right away.<br/ I went with hardly any expectations, and my first visit to Hemant will be something I 'll always remember!
