Haida Way
Description
A compact, family-run roadside eatery known for homestyle cooking and a famously debated curried chicken. Generous portions, friendly servers and budget-friendly prices make it a reliable stop for travelers, though curry style is nontraditional and quality can be uneven—dry rice, scant sauce and slow takeout reported. Clean but dated interior with plentiful parking. Expect comforting classics and warm service, but occasional frustration if you want authentic coconut-based curry or flawless phone/takeout service.

This restaurant offers excellent homestyle cooking. I make it a point to stop by almost every time I visit up-Island, particularly for their delicious curried chicken—it's fantastic! The service is also outstanding.
I absolutely adore this restaurant and have been a fan for years! It's a favorite spot for our family gatherings, but we also enjoy coming here just the two of us when we travel down from Nanaimo. The breaded curried chicken is a must-try...
Strike three! I won't be returning. I know this place is famous for having the best curry, but the staff is just too frustrating. If you know exactly what you want, it seems to confuse them, and if you try to...
My nephew ordered a takeout meal of curry chicken, and it took quite a while for the person on the phone to understand our order. We requested one full serving of curry chicken with extra curry sauce. What we received was nothing short of disappointing. The rice was dried out and scant, the chicken was also overcooked, and there was barely any sauce—definitely not the extra sauce we paid for. We used to enjoy this dish regularly, as it was one of our favorites, but lately, it has been consistently bad. The service was poor, and the food was worse. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.
