My goodness gracious where do I start! I must say, we came to splurge, and splurge we did- in the best way possible. Having never had it but desperately wanting to, the okonomiyaki was a pleasant surprise. It was everything I dreamt of and more!Absolutely delicious and totally worth trying. Do be warned, that plate is quite large! With three of us (and how delicious thegarlic fries were , we couldn?t quite finish it, so come hungry! Now, the garlic fries. Wow, something so simple done soexcellently; I?m daydreaming about the fries while writing this, and probably again when you?re reading this! I can?t raveenough. They came with ranch and ketchup but frankly they were absolutely perfect as is. The Japanese salted salmon was cookedperfectly, and seasoned likewise. Incredibly tender and juicy with a perfectly crisp skin- this wasn?t my dish as I don?tgenerally enjoy salmon, but man I?d order this in a heartbeat! Boyfriend had the salmon and said he dislikes beets butabsolutely loved the application here. I had the flank steak and MAN was I wowed! Juicy, tender, perfectly seasoned, andperfectly cooked. The brandy mustard cream sauce is to die for. Honestly I will HAVE to get it again, and with a little extrasauce it was so dang good. The chef cuts the steak on a harsh bias in several slices making it incredibly tender and a loteasier to cut and eat compared to your standard steak. The plating allowed all the resting juices to be soaked into the (somehowstill crispy! potatoes below so nothing went to waste, and every bite was a beautiful blend of rich, tangy, creamy, meatydeliciousness. I have no doubt I?ll be dreaming about it later tonight. For drinks we had the Odd Couple (not pictured andSummer Water. Now frankly I do not love the taste of liquor, but both drinks accented them incredibly well. Summer Water wasperfectly balanced to help cut the richness of the dishes between bites and to cleanse to taste each other?s choices, somethingnice to sip alo
Beautiful restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Excellent food, wine and spirits. Unfortunately the service is sub-par. The server brought the check before we were done eating and my wife had just ordered another drink. I wasnt afforded the opportunity foranother. Too bad. Could be a five star place.
Yes to this hip restaurant with tons of seating and a menu with serious flair. We were happy to be seated right away on a Friday evening at 8pm. Drink orders were taken right away. Wasn?t terribly impressed with my drink of choice but suppose I misspicked.ANYWAY the menu. They encourage you to order a few plates and share as the plates will come out exactly when they are ready no typical appetizer, main course structure. Our waitress, Emma, recommended we ordered 3 4 plates. We picked the Okonomiyaki, pork belly and the crack chicken or whatever it was called. All seriously crazy amazing. My favorite was the pork belly whichwas so fresh, nice big pieces with soft inside and crispy outside. I was amazed and don?t think I could ever order pork bellyanywhere else after that experience because I would be dissatisfied. All items had a Japanese or Asians taste which could havebeen a coincidence of our order or maybe not, but was very welcome. Only down side besides my cocktail was that after we got ourfood we never saw Emma again until she gave us our check without asking if we?d like another drink or if we?d like dessert. Thatwas disappointing and honestly a major turnoff after our awesome experience. Regardless, I?d go back and highly recommend thisjoint, but cmon Emma. Bar seating, outside area seating+ in a super cool and happening area.
I just have to commend a place that offers rare spirits in appropriate spirit-focused glassware at extremely reasonable prices (honestly, probably underpriced). We just came in to look at the menu after already having dinner and drinks and had to stickaround for Old Rip. We?ll definitely be back for dinner (and drinks) soon! The ambiance and lighting was spectacular as the sunwent down. Surprisingly calm for a Friday night, and the bar staff was super friendly and helpful.
