I have nothing too complicated, rice, roasted bean, cheese, spinach, extra cheese, buffalo ranch, with acidic cream and hot soaked. this burrito was delicious, and tasted fresh, maybe it was the “Hinte von Kalk” I asked her to hit my burrito with, but it was freshly tasting and filling, cant ask for much more. What User doesn't like about The Corner Store:
When I arrived I ordered a burrito and asked about the tempeh another reviewer mentioned. I was told by a surprisingly surly teenager that you have to call ahead for it, or wait for 20 minutes to have it cooked. I went on their website before stopping and nowhere was this mentioned, the idea of calling ahead. I skipped it, not wanting to wait and ended up with a bad burrito. I wouldn't ever go there again. This place makes big burritos to begin, but they can add tempeh to each burrito, but they just have to call 15 minutes before arriving (or just wait). it is worth adding the additional step/wait, as the sauce in which they cook is very tasty and they add a considerable amount of tempo that can be quite useful if you are after protein - as I was - after many meal times with non-veg options when visiting family members, during holidays on the Cape because they make so good burritos, there is often one line. but not fret – it moves quickly.
I personally will not go back or unite vegan to go after what ive after numerous chances I have seen this restaurant. the cross-contamination on this line pushes me out. melted cheese in the rice, huh swim in the beans, sour cream in the guac, not to mention, the personal used the same few gloves to treat cheese and meat then touches the fresh vegetables and salad. I felt as if my vegan burriro was covered with meat and cheese oils, and there was a series of cheese in my rice. I asked if they cook the aubergines on the same grill as the steak, and unfortunately they do. also should be pointed out that the caramelized wobbles are not vegan friendly, domino sugar is one of the ingredients and that is not a vegan friendly sugar. also the seven corn from pain d’avignon contains honey. looks like a great place for vegetarian or carnivores. vegans are more aware. updated by previous review on 2017-03-01
Ok, as a local bucodder I hope that my review here gets more worth on the reader than some others here. Sure, maybe if they are in a city where more places are vegan-friendly, then need to wait 15 minutes for tempo (or call them ahead) is a problem. but seriously, it is really good, and the fact that they have it even as an option is great. many places here are not even dependent on having vegan protein as option and as I went into today, they also had a delicious vegan cream of mushroom soup on special. So let's not knock them on the availability of options we need to wait a few minutes. seriously? as far as cross-contamination goes, yes they serve meat and cheese, it is a common kitchen, so there is always this risk. that is true of any restaurant, they only prepare the food right in front of them here so that they can see it instead of it hidden in a kitchen. If that disturbs them, then I probably don't come here, but eating is great, the staff is always friendly, I give it 4 stars. if they are in the opposite, it is a good option for a healthy, filling lunch.
No seating but good burritos. Very easy to make it vegan. Veggies were fresh and we'll seasoned.
