went on our last night when visiting friends who live local. A little wary when it had Pizzeria on the outside but what a surprise, the food was fantastic, pizzas not on offer until weekends, service was friendly and chef came and made sure we were happy with the food. The small scallops in garlic were cooked just right for the starter and the steaks and duck dishes ordered were of the same high quality, desserts wer... View all feedback.
What Hugues Lenoir doesn't like about Le Vent des Isles:
a very friendly welcome, a simple kitchen: this is the recipe of this establishment to spend a good time with friends or eat quickly during the lunch break. pizzas are good, prepared by the original Italian patron; So he can do it. all for a rather wise addition. short, no bad surprise, and friendlyness assured. We regularly travel past this place and it looks almost always closed. no idea how they live. the few paintings we found that it was open eating well and service very friendly.
Went there with my wife for a Friday night out. We went on the a la carte menu and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Anne had gesier salad followed by duck breast in a sauce. I had Queen scallops followed...by sirloin steak. Both meals were excellent. The accompanying wine at €17 was superb. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Visited at lunchtime on a Saturday in late August. Most other restaurants were closed for their annual holiday. This is a very large restaurant hidden away behind a bar. We were the only customers although were joined by a noisy 2 adult and 2 young...children family half way through our meal. We ordered the set 3 course menu ordering cold meat starter, chicken and chips, followed by Apple pie and ice cream and rose wine, all for E11.5 each. The meal was fresh, wine was good and service first class. For the money you can't complain.
I think this must be a new start up as I am gobsmacked that there are no reviews already here. We went on a Wednesday Night and it was very quiet. Wednesday is a quiet day in Brittany as all the kids are off school...and we could not find a taxi in the area for love or money. We were a bit dubious about entering as aside from a few people at the bar the place was very quiet but as it was already 8pm a team decision was made to give it a whirl and I am so glad we did. The levels of cleanliness and service were of the highest order and the friendly welcome we received was outstanding. You will need a smattering of French or a dictionary at least here as English is not a strong point but it added to the fun (and two or three of us are fairly fluent or fluid as it turned out). The starters wonderful snails, scallops and goat's cheese certainly grabbed everyone's attention and after a long day on the sunny coast we were more than ready for the mains, Wonderful duck, steak and tuna steak dishes appeared with generous salads (or seasonal vegetables where requested) and brilliant new potatoes. An absolute pleasure! Most everyone was happy with that, and carafe after carafe of excellent wines continued to our table long after the official closing time of 9pm. The two of our party who had sweets thoroughly enjoyed them and I feel we who went without missed a treat! Although we ended up as the only diners our evening did sot suffer for this brilliant unobtrusive AOR in the background, the flow of excellent food and wine, and the happy conversations of old friends reuniting in the foreground! The bill when it came was most reasonable. A great night in an outstanding restaurant would love to go back when it's packed. That will be soon, as, I was so taken with Brittany I am in the process of pulling stumps and retiring there! Need I say more don't miss this place see you there. Oh and the final bonus for the French staff and us English customers alike was that news filtered through that Spain were out of the World Cup as well so suddenly it was not quite so embarrassing to have an English accent!
Large room still in the world on the noon, the welcome is nice the workers' menu is cheap and very good, go there with friends/collègues. Pizzas evening and weekend
