We ate a variety of pasta including super tasty Papardelle with truffle and also tagliatelle with shrimps and a variety of clams... Sort of a superb frutti del mare. The entrees were simple and tasty and the ambient relaxed and friendly. I like when I...can speak Italian with an Italian waiter in an Italian restaurant. I will return on my next visit to Saanenland View all feedback.
What Freeda O'Kon doesn't like about des Alpes:
in front of the positive reviews, went to dinner on the 11th 10th at the evening, restaurant room closed, so dine in the coffee, good friendly welcome. at meals two meled salads, two röstis one with ham, the other with eggs, two beers and two coffees, an error on the order, the ham had been integrated into the rösti while I had ordered it apart, röstis very very fat. My wife had stomach pain all night, I wasn't much... View all feedback.
Came here last year and could not wait to go back. it was so wonderful! I think it's a new possession for the last 1.5 years. genuine excellent fresh Italian food, excellent service. somehow our server has italian, french. English language mixed and we could fully understand it! very charismatic. I can't expect to go back and try another dish. great with friends or even for a romantic evening.

Nice little cafe with very good home made food, Rosti is the speciality, we had it and rostbeef with vegetables, all very good, generous portions, friendly and quick service. prices not bad.
My wife and I visit the balloon fiesta in Chateau D'Oex for a long weekend every January and always visit this place. Its really friendly and a good place to eat dinner but for me coming in here to eat lunch after being out all morning in the cold photographing the balloons is the best time.A bowl of their soup is a meal in itself and tastes delicious. We also like the Rosti, Fondue and Macaroni, in fact everything is good. Its also a good place to pop in for a beer or a coffee/hot chocolate. If you are spending anytime in Chateau D'Oex then I suggest that you pop in and try the soup, especially on a cold day.
