Poivre Rouge - Chassieu

A group of us ate here after a long day manning an exhibition stand at the nearby Eurexpo. The place was fairly quiet and parking was easy. Service was prompt and friendly and the menu choice was good. A choice of set meals were offered with a limited choice of courses. we all started with a visit to the 'salad' bar where a wide range of salads, cold meats, pate, snails, salmon, prawns and much more was on offer - you could return as many times as you wanted. All the main course were delivered togther and everyon agreed the food was nice. All in all good value and good food.

We were told that it was closed for good! No more to add as we did not get in at all. Which is a pity because it was recommended to us as a nice place,

The greeting was effective and i was seated immediately. The first impression ist that the restaurant is placed next to a supermarket and seems to belong to this supermarket chain. A typical type of system gastronomy. Good and friendly service staff. No waiting. Salat or starter buffet impressive with some types of salads, meat, shrimps and other stuff. I ordered an entrecote and took self service from the salad buffet. Concerning the salad buffet there are no fresh ingedients (like lettuce, tomatoes or alike), only salads made with mayonaise or creme fraîche which ar like a brick in your stomach. The entrecote (300 gr as per the menue) was like a piece of leather or a toy you give to your dog for chewing, hardly edible for a human being. Impossible to eat. The bernaise sauce as well as the salad dressing was quite sour hence I assume the sauce is coming from the bucket of the supermarket and is far from fresh snd tasty. Last but not least the cleanliness, everything was more or less spotless except the floor. The price asked was OK except the quality was far from being acceptable in my opinion. I hence cannot recommend this restaurant.
