There are two restaurants in the Monarque hotel, one is the brasserie la cour, where they can sit outside in the courtyard during the summer and the other is on the left side while entering the hotel and it has a star. in the Michelin guide and would probably be the best restaurant in chartres, as it is the only one that has a star. in the first night of my stay in the juli I had the soirée étape that includes her room, dinner with a set 2 curs menu and a continental breakfast. all the others got mini-gougère cheese buffers, but I didn't have a bottle of wee at the beginning of my meal. I had a duo of melone to begin with feta cheese, as it was out of her plat du jour of lachs, I had an salat with garnel that was good. I then went into the bar (actually old and uncomfortable sessel and couches) and the waiter brought the rest of my weines there. the next day I had the normal menu with burrata for 10 €, then chicken with mushrooms and apricots with potatoes with sweet cubes for 20 €, which was nothing special. I asked the waiter hervé to bring my bottle of wine into the bar, I waited and waited and he didn't come, so I asked the barman to get it for me. expected a better service, so he held his tipp.
There were some negative about our visit in this restaurant, but my main course was really good to make a long way for the rest. to get that look: . despite booking several days before, our table was not. for the correct number of guests when we arrive. . the wine list is under minimum, fortunately you can order from the list of the main restaurant, which is considerable. . the glassware is completely inadequate, old-fashioned tasting glasses with narrow openings (so much so that the waiter spilled wee when pouring the majority of our glasses.) when I mentioned that in the Bill Settling phase I said that I had requested special glassware. Now, you don't like to make a fuss, and it's up to the restaurant to deliver decent glasses. I'm not uber-fussy, but I knew both of the crying we had and neither showed half the class I expected. . the foie gras was correct, but rather flat, with a certain lack of seasoning. now for the positive: the côte de veau (for two) was spectacularly good and was worth visiting on its own. so my advice is to come with someone who is willing to share this dish with them (cooked rosée, of course,) and make sure to ask for better glassware.
