Real disappointment. Was looking forward to the takeaway as had seen the other reviews raving about the restaurant. Unfortunately the onion bhaji was burnt and in edible but worst of all the curry was bland and the chicken was dry. Wont be ordering again!
I started at Gateway Grammer school in 1970. A classmate, Will, is organising a re-union for June next year. This was a reunionette with another class-mate, Andy, who lives quite close to this restaraunt. The food was very nice, The shammi kebabs were delicate and tasty. I tried some of Will's onion Bhaghi, this was saucer shaped rather than the usual sphere. Once again it was better than the average (Boo-boo). My main was a Lamb Tikka Tawa, new to me, I can throw caution to the winds sometime so long as it involves Lamb. I would say the menu is fairly standard Indian, but I'm always on the lookout for something unusual. Tthe Tawa is cooked in a shallow frying pan, they put on a mat on the table. Pillau rice excellent and the plain Nan had a subtle sweet taste to it. Yes, I have fallen in love with this place, quite small but in the centre of Sileby. It is very close to Sileby station so handy for anyone from Leicester or Loughborough, unlicenced but there is a well known supermarket next door with Real ale and wine, the place provides glasses. Will and Andy enjoyed their meals too.
I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life, I was out dining with my sister to be sat next to a group of individuals who constantly made sexual references towards us throughout our time there. I had to request to move table. The staff were then insistent in confronting the man who made the sexual remarks towards me who even attempted to kick me at one point and ‘sort him out’, I said this was unnecessary as I just wanted to have a nice night and avoid awkwardness. I was told it was his restaurant and he had to sort it out. We were then confronted by the male who was making sexual remarks and he actually sat with us whilst we were eating when I told him I didn’t want him there. This really ruined the night and was exactly what I was trying to avoid. He then accused us of lying and made us even more uncomfortable. Management then chose to ignore this and allowed it to happen! So much for ‘sorting it out’. Because of this, we then ate as quickly as possible to avoid anymore confrontation and conflict. As we walked out the door the same group of rude men shouted at us! Unfortunate as the food was great but will not be returning after being made to feel like this.
Dripping in grease; tasteless food. No mango or dips with poppadoms as I was advised they'd ran out. This was a collection order, which they'd messed up. The food was really poor, with a nasty aftertaste. Watery, oily vegetarian dish. Chips like cardboard. Wouldn't visit again
