Visited on a busy Wednesday lunch and all enjoyed their meal. My red onion and Gruyere tart was gorgeous and my friends all found their Christmas special meals tasty. Staff were pleasant and efficient despite working really hard. We were comfortable but would have appreciated a little more ventilation in these Covid days. View all feedback.
What Blue270660 doesn't like about Queen Victoria:
I couldn’t fault the main course of steak and chips. But despite being told at time of booking that there would be a gluten free pudding option, when it came to it the only option was ice cream. Ice cream should accompany a pudding and is in no way a pudding in its own right so was left very disappointed as pudding is the best part of the meal and if you get that wrong the whole meal is a let down. I went to steak night and it was absolutely amazing! There are no other words to describe it. If you don't go and eat here, you will be missing out on a hidden gem.
I must say that this carvery in Syston is the best. The food is all homemade, with fresh roast potatoes, a great selection of meat, and hand-chopped vegetables. It's definitely worth a visit, with friendly staff who greet you with a warm smile. I would recommend booking in advance, as we were lucky to get a table as walk-ins. The value for money is excellent. Thank you to the wonderful staff, we had a lovely time. We'll definitely be back soon, especially for the delicious gravy.
This restaurant is the perfect spot for a family Sunday dinner roast. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Great little pub, been visiting on and off for a while but had not been in for a couple of months. decided to go back and the food was amazing. probably one of, if not the best pub meals I have ever had. Camembert wedges starter was amazing and the stilton steak sauce was very nice, along with everything. Service was very friendly, the guy behind the bar was very welcoming. would defiantly recommend this pub.
Have just visited the Queen Vic for Sunday carvery and it was excellent although as a coeliac I couldn’t eat the Yorkshire puddings and stuffing there was however gluten free gravy available on request. There was even a choice of gluten free puddings, one little niggle however was they put gluten containing wafer rolls on the apple pie which was excellent by the way. But when I pointed this out to them they immediately offered to get me a fresh slice of pie. The staff were very friendly, quick and efficient and would certainly have no problem eating here again.
